It was a hard deciosion. Mass Effect is my most liked game series, but as long as Origin scans my disk (even medical softwares are scanned) this is no way. There is proof for this on youtube and other websites.

I hope EA will changes this or Bioware is going without Origin for the Single-player.

Let me know if it is without and my suscription is back in a second.

Please Bioware. I love you games. Dont let EA ruin you!

Unite against Origin. If we are enough, than they will hear US!

(and yes I know enough to protect my pc from what origin does, but I wont allow something like origin on my PC)

social.bioware.com/3154373/polls/25293/

Vote for it.

Wait, when was it confirmed that you would need Origin itself to play ME3? I knew about us needing an Origin account, but that's what we're using to access the BSN. As far as I know, you don't need to install Origin itself to play ME3 just yet...

There are plenty of tools to limit the activities of Origin.

I got the information on a german game magazine.
And there was no clarifycation from Bioware/EA so far.

And you need to be online while playing the singleplayer part (correct me if this is rong)

Lol... you sound like the Anti-Steam people back in 2004. Honestly, how is Origins any different? The hatred for it seems to be more based on bias and fear than actual reason.

That said, you ALREADY have Origins if you've managed to get an account here. So... yeah.

I bought BF3 and I will say that Origin can go **** itself with a claw hammer.

Why do I have to launch the game from my web browser?
Why do I have to launch the game every single time I want to join a different server?
Why can't I skip the opening?

ME World at War is for sure going to be using the same model. The single player may not but it's still going to be launched from Origin.

About the tools to stop origin aktivitys:

I had enough. I dont want to spend my time protecting my system from a legale copy of a game. They just going to far.
They making it harder and harder to just enjoy a game without having to think about.

You don't need to spend a lot of time, just do it once.

Its an extra software. If it makes problems I have to check for more solutions.
There is no offline mode, so if my internet is broken I canot play....

If we accept this more will come!

I´m willing to wait until new year before i cancel my preorder. If there is no official annoucement about whenever ME3 will require Origin before that time, i won´t buy the game.

Sorry D.Kain I missunderstud you and you missunderstud me.
With extra software I meant Origin.

And yes I know about no-dvd patches.
My point is that I need to take extra steps to enjoy the game. Even if they are small they getting more and more. That has to stop, because they are not necessery.

Oh sure, I get your point: make companies stop so that we don't need to do stupid things, just to enjoy the game.

I am just not lazy yet, it's not a problem for me to spend extra 30 min to get the game running offline even if by deffault it must be online. ^_^

I don't have much to contribute to this thread other than the Origin EULA is pretty unappealing. They could definitely make it a lot more user-friendly and there is a monetary value of have a customer-friendly EULA.

Of course, this should probably be directed at EA, and not on Bioware forums. Who knows, maybe EA vice presidents Ray and Greg will read this and agree.
