You're all busting on EA. Who is at least decent enough to tell you in advance that they plan to use your info to better focus THEIR marketing. But your cellular carriers? You know, the ones you're probably locked into having for the next year or two? They aren't just looking at your info for their own advertising. Their selling it to whole other companies and institutions. Unregulated capitalism! It's awesome!

having not read much of this thread ive gathered people just seem to dislike origins on the fact it was made by EA, not because its malicious spyware (which it isnt), i dont have anything against EA or origin prehaps it could be better but was steam the pinnacle of user interface when it launched? no it wasnt.
@ OP. sorry but that is a very poor reason to cancel your mass effect 3 preorder. you may hate origins guts but to be honest its not an evil spyware programme, EA just wants to know more about how you play the games they publish, if that makes them better then can it really be so bad?
i would suggest reinstating your preorder now, when you play ME3 im sure you'll forget all about origin.

Ok, there is already a thread discussing whether Origin will be required for ME3. Please move this discussion there.
