Very interesting!

I like the way the Reapers turn different species into different kinds of Husks.

Don't get annoyed at me for saying this next part, but it irks me everytime and this has been the most obvious statement they've made so far:

"You're going to need to use your biotics a lot more"

I'm a soldier and therefore, have no biotics to speak of!

It seems all the promotional material emphasizes Shepherd as a biotic and they base their gameplay around the idea that every player is also a biotic, when they may be a tech or a soldier as well.

It seems a little one sided to me that none (or very few) of these promo videos show a soldier Shepherd or a tech Shepherd.

Aside from that one quote, I can't think of any other time they have emphasized Shepard as a biotic

Badly off topic Alien series story:

So my son's 14 years old and thinks he's seen some scary movies. I smirk. "You want to see a scary movie? OK."

So I rent "Alien." We sit up late at night and watch it one Saturday. He's seen some rough stuff before, so he's not damaged or anything, but when it's over he looks at me, half-surprised, and says "That was really good."

He goes and tells some friend of his about it, suggesting they watch it. The friend scoffs. "That's old."

"Yeah?" I say after hearing this. "Did I tell you they made a game out of it? It's considered one of the scariest games of all time." "Really?" "Oh yeah. I think I still have it." Sure enough, I still have Alien vs. Predator 2 for PC. He plays it as a space marine. He beats it. He plays it as an alien. Beats it. Plays it as a Predator. Beats it. We watch Aliens. Loves it. We stopped there with the movies, though.

And my Inflitrator FemShep is named Sigourney.

Plus it obviously means Biotics in general, as in Shepard & Squad. Not that I'll use any anyways Image IPB

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought, "Witch! Lights off!" when I first saw the Banshee! Hope there's an achievement for cr0wning one! But seriously, Bioware; these new enemies are awesome! And I would like to add that I am in support of a Box Creature LI! ;)

One more thing: NOOOO! NOT THE RED BEAM OF DEATH! *jumps and hides behind a rock and doesn't come out until the squaddies have killed it*

Granted, he does seem to be a biotic of some sort in most of the videos, but I've yet to hear them explicitly use that term. Heard "you and your squad's abilities" thrown around a couple times, but nothing stated explicitly in regards to biotics.

I actually do hope they force us to use the squad's powers a little more effectively, but that should come naturally with the improvements to the AI and enemy types anyhow.

God-Dammit. That's the first time in months that I have come across a bit of ME3 news that actually made me smile.

Looking forward to going up against the Banshee ( an Asari husk that can use biotics, now that is something different from the run of the mill husk ). I'm also liking what that guy was saying about how the Cerebus soldiers with the shields will adavnce on us and try to force out of cover while Snipers may be at the back waiting to pick us off. I also liked that bit where Shepard flanked those Cerebus soldiers and shot at them through the glass, it's a very small thing but I don't remember glass being breakable in ME2, it's the little things that make a game world feel more real.

Not sure if anyone noted this, interesting version of an Asari husk... though, it keeps bringing me back to those butt ugly husks in the first level demo. Those have got to be Batarians. I mean, you can only go downhill with those guys.

That dialogue as a bug/glitch, and Kaidan always said that Shepard is a biotic, even if he's a soldier.

So, that makes how many different variations of husks we've seen so far?

Human, turian, batarian, asari... I want to see a salarian one, just so we have all the council species.

Does anyone think Banshee looks a little like the Newborn Alien in Alien: Resurrection?

EDIT: Apparently it was already mentioned. I apologize.

Doesn't justify much, but I was always under the impression that EVERY Shepard is a biotic. It's just that the Soldier/Engineer/Infiltators simply didn't harness their power and tap it. It IS a matter of choice of whether or not you want to be implanted with chips and trained for years, right?

Heh, I just realised that, despite it being standard videogame vernacular, the simple labelling of the reapers and their husks as "just another" faction, amongst others, complete with a picture of its various troops, kind of disarmed their ominous presence for me, for the time being - even more than Harbinger's relentless trash talk. :P

Factions... Heh, I wonder if TIM believes he can use the Reapers' own indoctrination system against them and put the ancient threat on a leash... :P

I forgot about that. That was the alternative method of getting into Donavon Hock's room right. The reason why I did not think glass was breakble in ME2 was that I was playing ME2 2 nights ago and and I was doing one of those N7 missions and and one of the bad guys was taking cover behind a transparent piece of glass and I kept think how stupid it was that my bullets couldn't just penetrate the glass and kill the guy.

I think fighting in the dark is going to be great. That was one idea i had hope the devs would do.

If anyone who has seen kick-ass, the fight scene where hit girl fights in the dark with the flashing torch...i think something like that would make a really good cinematic scene for me3.

Anyone else agree? :)

Banshee concept is nice, but if it turns out too just amount to a walking shield generator with basic biotic powers, I'll be annoyed. And along those lines, I will be very disappointed with bioware if the Cannibal turns out to be just a reskinned scion with a machine gun rather than the cannon.

But I doubt bioware would stoop to those lows.

i actally think your assesment of the banshee is exactly what itll be. and that seems fine to me. if were not going to see randm enemies that are adepts or engineers, then seeing powerfull boss type enemies like the banshee will be nice. the most important part of what the banshee is, is that its made by the reapers. reapers ground forces are going to be the best ever constructed, literally. so if i dont remember my first fight with a banshee, then bioware screwed up.

watching the demo, those 'canibals' look pathetically easy. im not sure a reaper would make something so easy to kill.

im fine with reskinned ME2 enemies, becasue ME2 is essentially garbage when ME3 comes out, and i didnt play enough of ME2 to care.
