Hey guys I am buying DAO ultimate edition. I read about all the problems but I figured I was enough of a technical wiz to figure it all out and worst case scenario I could play the game on my vista laptop. 


SO what advice do you guys have for first install? Do I need any patches? Is there some magic guru i have to rub to get the game to work? I have never had ANY version of the game installed on my computer before. 

I have 64 bit Windows 7 with  ATI Radeon HD 5670

If you plan on registering the game, just remember that the Ultimate Edition is listed separately from the regular edition per platform. That tripped me up while trying to register the UE the first time.

What do you mean plan on registering? Do I have an option? What are pros cons? Whats the best thing to do if I just want to play this single player game by myself (I don't really care about an online profile).

Actually playing the game? I found I get most out of the dialogue and story side of things with a high Cunning charater that gets the Coercion talent ranks as soon as possible.

There are no cons to registering. Also, if you post here for help you're more likely to get better assistance, because it shows you're likely to have a genuine copy.
