So yeah, the game froze twice but after a reset nothing bad happened. Just came here to tell you guys what worked for me:
  • I kept a USB plugged in backing up my saves AT ALL TIMES. Before/After playing ME2 I backed up my save, it takes less than a minute.
  • When I saved, I patiently waited until the message at the bottom left corner that says something along the lines of "Saving file, please do not turn off system" dissappeared completly. After that, instead of shutting down my PS3 I ALWAYS WENT BACK TO THE MAIN MENU.
  • I took breaks after two hours playing to avoid the crashes. Saved, turened off, turned on again.
May sound like a hassle, but in the end was tottally worth it. Now my renegade femshep vanguard is ready to kick ass in ME3.

I was actually thinking about to enjoy the game, not follow "steps" to avoid some kind of crash...
you know, insert the game in and forget about it...
just sad someone has to go through some sort of ritual to finish a game

I use to think Bioware was a great company that cared about the quality of their products. Not anymore. Slow down and release games when they are ready. MMO's and rushed sequels. What happened?

Strange. I've played 6 hours straight and no freezes, no file saves corruption, just the usual crap:
Bad ground textures in overlord, lack of sync with audio and sound, some slowdowns, but no file corruption.

Hmm my files were corrupted last night. seems bioware does not care about fixing the issue. i cannot back up game data because of the copyright protrction crap. :((
