I just brought dragon age ultimate edition of the origin website, btw it didnt give me any cd key to register the game, ive downloaded and installed it starting to play it and realised it says all the extra content isnt authorised, googled this trying to find an answer and apparently the latest patch 1.04 fixes it? downloaded and tried to install this and then it encountered an error trying to install and is not telling the the game is corrupted and i have to uninstall the game so i have done that and im now in the process of downloading the game again because i cant just reinstall it for some reason, im reading all this stuff about the problems with biowares games and it all just sounds like a total unbelievable **** storm


anyway i think this is just an absolute joke and i just want a refund or something is that possible? thanks for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated

The Ultimate Edition comes with 1.04 pre-installed, trying to install it again will bork your game. The patch that fixes DLC issues is the 1.05 beta patch (although it does cause game breaking lag on some systems).

If you do decide to download the beta patch I recommend making a back-up of your daorigins.exe file before installing it just in case you experience the lag issue.

Hey, thank you very much for the quick reply, I'm still downloading it again atm, could you please tell me if there is other patches to download besides 1.05? I've read there is a return 2 ostagar and a witch hunt update/patch? also ive found the cd key or whatever... and i registered the game on this site but in my registered game content it shows my mass effect content for xbox etc.. but does not show any of the pc dragaon age content? is this normal? is this because the game isnt installed yet? last thing what causes the lag issue? im using a brand new laptop its a lamborghini laptop or whatever if you have heard of it, it was 3000 dollars and is ment 2 have the best graphics card out etc etc so will i be ok?

You don't need any additional patches after installing the UE (as far as I am aware) unless you have the DLC issues. There's a lot of fan made mods/fixes out there that tackle bugs in both Origins & Awakening but you're best off leaving those until you get your core game up and running.

Your userpic shows you have the Origins UE so it may simply be a delay on the site updating and worth checking under Profile-> Registered game content again once you've finished your install (caveat: I have the retail edition so I'm not 100% on how the digital set-up works but I understand there's a way to save the files you've downloaded if you need to re-install somewhere in the download settings).

On the lag caused for some users by the 1.05 beta patch - I'm not sure exactly what's causing it since it's fairly random, your best bet is to make the .exe file back-up, install the 1.05 beta patch and if you do experience the lag issue simply delete the updated .exe file and replace it with your 1.04 back-up.

Ok I just finished downloading dragon age ultimate again, installed it, registered it, downloaded patch 1.05, tried to install it and im getting an error message, what now? also in my registered content it still only shows "amulet of the war mage dragon age origins pc mac" whatever that is, soooooo ummm yeah what now? this is like really really really really dissapointing, never had this much trouble just trying to play the game i payed for, i wish they would have a warning before purchase saying how broken this all is....... but please any help from anyone would be nice

Unfortunately that's not a problem I'm familiar with, your best bet is to first have a look through this thread for common problems, if there's nothing in there that helps then your next stop will have to be the official EA Support for the game.
