It's a DLC, not the whole game. But that one piece of DLC did get me to play ME2 more than I played ME1.alex90c wrote...

I'm curious how many fans this "no one is permanent" crap will cost Bioware. I bet one of the things that hardly anyone wants is to have their favorite squadmates or/and LI's for like 1/25 of the gameplay.
just how only having liara for lotsb costed bioware massively didn't it
Can Mass Effect survive after Comander Shepard

Yes it was about Liara but Shepard was there. Plus one more of your permanent squadmates. Now it looks like they already deprived us of permanent ones and there'll be no more Shep at the end. That won't do the franchise good.

The Mass Effect universe is so large and interesting, that I think it would be easy to do more with it than Shepard's story.

My money is still on Vega becoming the Next protagonist, or at least is the Captain/Commander of the new protagonist. I would love to see how being with Shepard's crew would change him - as we see based on his comic, he's a deeply troubled man with no intention of fixing the problem, but Anderson pretty much says 'STFU I'm gonna help you fix anyway.'

Bioware RPGs are based on character customization, no known defined character will star in a "main" game.
There's been a few posts in the past discussing this, I stand in my opinion that the best route for the franchise is letting it rest for a few years and plan a new trilogy for next gen consoles, se around 200 years in the future of the series with new characters and a new story building from the post Galactic War universe.

Seriously for those who are looking for a MMO RPG have to wait for a long time. Because EA is not going to spend their money with another MMO soon. They will earn money from SWTOR for a long time, then only they will look at another option.
Remember what happened to Halo after Master Chief? I think similar thing will happen to ME.

If it's an RPG in the style of ME1 and 2 or DA:O or DA2 or any of their other RPG games, I'll probably get it, depending on how ME3 works out.
I am glad Shepard's story is going to be over and I really don't want any of the characters from this series to be the star of a new game. It's been fun and I like all of them, but I do like meeting new characters. Same universe would be ok, maybe someone goes to check out the reapers home or fast forward 20,000 years or so and some other galactic problem needs taking care of.
Straight Shooter - not for me; MMO - not for me. I'll be sorry if BioWare goes in that direction, but I'll find some other game to play if they do.

Tired of people whining and complaining when they don't like a particular direction. Your response is mature. Just find another game to play.

I would continue to play Mass Effect after my Shepard has left the stage, on the condition that the new protagonist is another human and have a greater level of customisation (e.g., more than just a physce profile and pre-service history.) Maybe more like I was a civilian scientist that got conscripted during the game's prologue, or something like that. Could be a simple guy/gal trying to make your way through life then a series of unfortunate evens dumps you into more trouble than you can fathom.
For my reasonings of wanted to remain human. It's simply my preference.
Krogans are cool, but not my favourite race. I like violence, I just don't enjoy seeing it dictate a society.
Turians, again, are cool as well, but I'm starting to think that they are overrated.
Asari... for the love of god, do not get my started on that race. Everyone you met either wants to kill you or sleep with you - granted this is a fairly large generalisation. It''s not my favourite way of conducting business.
Salarians? Well. They're alright, and Mordin is definitely a character I enjoy listening too, but they... actually, I can't really see a bad thing about them, expect the fast ageing/metabolism thing.
