Quick Question, my friend has a bad scratch on their CD for
Mass Effect 2. Is it possible for them to use MY CD to install the game and
then use their keycode? Or is the keycode attached to the CD also?

I think that's possible but then you'd still need the CD unless your friend intends to use a crack, which is technically in violation of the license agreement.

The easiest way is to register the key to an account and use that account to download the game legally from Origin.

Both games are store bought CD-Key.
And not a huge fan of Origin that's why I am asking if he could use my CD's and his CD-Key. :)

Doesn't matter. Any Mass Effect 2 CD key allows permanent digital downloads through Origin. I think Dragon Age Origins was the first BioWare game to support this. After downloading and installing you don't even have to run origin to run your games. Just find the executable, double-click and no more worries about scratched CDs. Only worries about privacy. :P

NOT USING ORIGIN! Don't care about getting it from Origin and he's not going to get it from Origin! :P

Since his Disk 2 of Mass Effect has a huge scratch on it and it won't read in his DVD Drive, can he use MY Disk 2 to install on his computer using HIS CD-Key?

That's all I want to know! :P
Sorry I was not clear enough! I don't do very well on the forums I guess heheeh

I don't want to repeat myself so here's some copypasta:

The only thing I have to change about my original comment is that there is no need for a crack since it's CD2. Just install it using your discs, use your friend's keys and boot it with your friend's disc 1.

As long as the play disc and license is ok, then you can install with any disk you want and not have it matter. There is no known data on a disk to link the disk and license together.

As an example, I installed my son's ME1 on his computer using my old black box disc since his was the new crap value games edition.

I have never had to do it myself, so I can't offer specifics, but it's been described often, so just dig into the archives:

In the Origin software (www.origin.com/about) click the cog icon (which means settings I guess) and click Redeem Product Code. There you enter your ME2 CD key. Just to be safe make sure you log in to Origin using the same account as on this site.
