... in regards to reporter punching, I think it's kind of funny. I would never lay a harmful hand on a women EVER, but the reporter gag is more of an inside joke now more than anything. The beauty of the Mass Effect games is things like this (or sex scenes) that are less PC for some people are merely options for the player to do rather than mandatory things that Shepard must do to save the universe. My paragon Shepard doesn't shoot people in the back nor does he punch reporters. My renegade Shep gives me other options to work with.
Also, speaking of sex scenes, I thought the whole "invite someone up to cuddle with" after the game was a bit corny. Obviously Bioware can't put nudity in games, and I'm fine with that, I would rather see romances to continue to be more and more ROMANTIC. Thane's dialogue with FemShep is romantic, ManShep's sex scene with Liara was romantic, and Bioware needs to continue to further this, especially since this is Shepard's last go-through as far as the public knows.
I hope Bioware continues to make side missions unique like in ME2. The Mako missions on ME1 were annoying and not that memorable, but having an actual mission rather than picking up a random ruin really made the non-linear portion of ME2 enjoyable for me.
More than anything, I hope Bioware does not lose its storytelling. If the combat blows and the RPG elements fail and multiplayer is crap I could survive if the dialogue and story were amazing. The before mentioned features are necessary for the game to have sales and for people to want to play multiple times through, but if I get an amazing ending and a story that holds on to my imagination and interest throughout I will be a happy customer.
In light of that last statement, I hope that ALL my decisions (in ME1, ME2, and ME3) show up in some form of consequence. I want my Rachni, Wrex, Collector Base, romances, loyalty mission, council saving, etc. decisions to all have UNIQUE and IMPORTANT results to my experience in ME3.
I respect Bioware and look forward to the day I hold my copy in hand for the first time.

Vehicles and exploration.

Exploration:
- Some ME2-like focused missions: land, fight/explore, leave.
- Some ME1-like uncharted worlds: land, explore, find, resolve, leave.
- A return to smaller locations: Normandy crash site, the house you win from Admiral Ahern, Shadow Broker base, with new things to do there.
Locations:
- Make hubs bigger than just one area. Use those greater numbers to spread out encounters, returning cameos, missions, and events.
- Spread all those things out over the course of the storyline. Don't dump them all/vast majority for when you first go there.
Characters:
- Have squadmates interact a lot more (for better or for worse). Some of these conversations can carry the game impact of the Tali/Legion or Jack/Miranda confrontations, but the majority should be like the Chakwas or engineers chat. A chance to philosophize, chat, and enjoy good company.
- Have squadmates move about on Normandy.
- Have beta testers make note of where they were expecting to see dialogue specific to certain characters on a given mission, but didn't get it. To the extent possible, try to fill in those gaps.
- Have characters react more to the story as it goes on, similar to Joker, Kelly, Kasumi, and Zaeed in ME2.
- For certain characters, build as deep a conversation tree as possible. (See: Garrus and calibrating)
- Since the Shepard VI never made its way into ME2 (which surprises me), I'm sure many would love to finally experience it in ME3.
Multiplayer:
- The die is cast with "Galaxy at War" but try to consider other ways to implement it.
- Use of the stock exchange or other delivery apparatus to give resources to friends.
- Notification when friends are doing "Galaxy at War" and a chance to hop into their game to help them.
- Return of Pinnacle Station as a way to add a competitive edge: the ability to compare your scores and times to your friends.
- The ability to send in-game messages to friends.
Missions:
- A return of quiet missions like fixing the solar array, examining the wreck that's hovering over a cliff, and Thane's loyalty missions.
- Arrival and Shadow Broker both suffered from a "too many enemies" problem. Don't sacrifice pacing to pad out combat. I think I killed more humans on this "small" secret asteriod in "Arrival" than I did Collectors in their own base (pre-bomb).
- Use the Suicide Mission template for more missions in ME3. Not necessarily always with the "life or death" ramifications, but the idea that the rest of your squad is out in the field doing their part. Have them be involved.
Music:
- Be sure the music, both in returning themes and new material, isn't unmoored from the sound and feel of the previous two games. It can't sound completely removed or that's a narrative failure.
DLC:
- Have all DLC take place *after* the end of the story, if possible. The story of ME3 and the resolution of the ME story should be available day one - either as DLC or "out of the box." Any post-launch DLC can serve as epilogue.
- Another advantage to doing this is hopefully you can have more VO artists return so that we don't have unnecessary silences when we bring Miranda, Jack, or Legion to the "Overlord" mission or Garrus and Tali to help Liara, only to have them mutely tag along.

-Split-screen for the co-op mode
-Gunship for the vehicle exploring component
-No restrictions on dialogue options based on Paragon/Renegade levels if you level up persuasion when you upgrade the class skill
-No terribly inefficient sublight engines for the Normandy on the galaxy map
-The ability to recolor the guns
-Better squadmate AI and mobility
Definately split screen co-op mode!!!!!!!!!!!

Split-screen mode would be cute, but I wonder if the fact that MP results somehow link into your individual game would complicate that.

It's already confirmed ME3 won't support a split screen co-op from lunch.
.
A huge disaster, I know, but it might come in time.
