After reading a walkthrough of BG2, I came across a section about the starting dungeon that there are few item drops that are affected from an imported BG1 save.

One of the areas though I can't seem to get a different drop is the Djinni flask quest.  Always recieve the Sword of Chaos.  Supposedly you can get other weapons from him, such as Bala's Axe.  The imported save used had a cleric with Ashideena equiped, which was the item I was expecting.

The other import changes work fine, Ilyich can drop Chainmail +3.  The Claw of Kazgaroth replaces the Helm of Balduran.  Of course there's also the pantaloons.

Curious to know if anyone has recieved a different reward from the Djinni with your own imported save?

No, he will always give you the sword (somebody read the import list tables and reported that those were the import items, but BioWare never actually uses the weapon list in the game).

While you probably already know this, the Djinn specifically says it has your "essence" not that it was ever your weapon. In fact, I believe this the same weapon Sarevok uses. I've done a ton of imports from many different classes into BG 2, but always I get the same weapon from the Djinn.

You are looking at the creature IDjinni, he only has the Sword as inventory, apart from odd items like Imoen's Belt.
