At least for me

for almost 6 years now I have had a meaningless tattoo rotting on my flesh, in truth I started hating it only days after I got it.
I wanted to save up for laser removal, but didn't want to make a fuss over it so I let it be
a few weeks ago I read about Salabrasion, self removal of tattoos at home, painful, barbaric and risky
the process involves a wet towel (or any piece of cloth) dipped in table salt being rubbed over the tattooed area until a wound becomes deep enough for a scab to form over it
I decided to give it a try; I scrubbed for nearly 30 minutes before deciding it's enough, the tattoo still looked the same, no ink seemed to have come off, but the wound was deep enough, I could tell because without the layers of skin to cover it, the tattoo seemed a lot less faded, much like when I first got it.
I rinsed the area in cold with some antibiotic soap, applied even more antibiotic ointment, dressed it, and left it alone
a stiff scab formed a few days later (would probably take longer without proper care) with a yellow-brown texture to it
earlier today the scab fell off and I am more than happy with the results, barely any trace of the tattoo is left, you'd have to really look to know ther was anything there.

on the other hand, I am probably going to be left with a scar for a few good months, but oh well, stupidity should always come at a price. :P

I'm removing a tattoo my self, something ... its something else , lets leave it at that.

Its 2/3 of my back , 1/4 sleeve. Mostly black and red. Got a self made removing technique down ; Its a little more complicated. But , given the seize , it works no question ; My scars , much like yours , stay as echoes on the skin.

I'll be posting a "How to guide" in a few months , everything going to plan. First i got a few things to check out, to make sure i'm no health hazard. If it works out , ill post it here.

Glad to hear you got yours out mate. Those fvckers inking people with no know-how ought to be skinned alive and left to rot in the sun (I mostly joking here ... mostly).

Work through the pain ; When in doubt ,remember this guy

[inappropriate image removed]

Edit: Not that our cause is of equal value. But when I'm about to give up , i think how much this guy went through and how little mine compares.

Edit edit : I last edit wasn't what i wanted to say.
