I anticipate a lot of tens for a series as well-known as GTA.

And none of them will really be deserved.  Nothing made by mortal hands is without flaw of any kind.

You take that back. Its "THE GAME OF THE DECADE!" Show some respect.

This video shows why you don't want to install the "play" disc

I always install my games unless told I shouldn't. In this case there's the install disc and then the play one, so it won't be an issue.

Useful for Xbox gamers. Does the PS3 one come on multiple discs aswell?

Nah, PS3 has a single blu-ray disc because there's more room on a blu-ray for the whole game.

Its why both PS4 and X1 next gen use blu-ray. Its a step forward.

Still gotta install the PS3 version though, 8GB.  You just won't have to switch discs.

Still useful however i bet i will still have to sit through a massive patch because developers don't have Q&A departments these days.

Yeah, install's still mandatory. The only difference is on 360 it'll take an extra few seconds to take the install disc out and put in the playable one.

Other than that, the differences between the two platform versions are the same that they've been in most cases in the past- 360's got fuller richer colors and PS3's got muted more mellow colors. Neither of which is better than the other, just up to each person's personal pref.

We're all...well, almost all winners. PC folks still waiting for info, probably will be waiting a while longer.

Always remember that scores are subjective. And that more often than not, reviewers have been extremely generous with their scores.

Quite relevant to the discussion:

The only review that should matter is your own, of course. The Escapist review was done by someone who felt the game suffered because they didn't like that the protagonists weren't good guys. At least, thats the short of it. And good/bad is subjective, so yeeeeeaaaah.

Thats not gonna stop people. I never slam reviewers for their scores, I just play or not play the games and leave it at that.

I think a lot of the reviewers also feel pressured to go ahead and give the max score. I usually pay more attention to player reviews afterwards.. and even then, not much. It's certainly fun reading all of these, though. I just got notice that my copy shipped. So hopefully I'll get mine by end of the week. *sigh*

Yup, I read both the good and the bad, and if that's not enough I can wait for video reviews like Angry Joe's or TB's WTF series.

The thing is with review scores, they're good in some cases. For example, Bayonetta was crap on PS3 compared to 360 due to porting. IGN gave the 360 version a 9.7/10 and the PS3 version an 8.2/10 I believe, unless I recollect incorrectly. Those numbers tell the whole story.

But then in a case like this with GTA V, they really don't mean anything. I think fans just want GTA V to be so highly scored it beats out Ocarina of Time, and every single time something like this happens, there's a reviewer who screws it up and they get blacklisted by fans.

I think there should just be separate scores for different parts of the game such as say
Story 8/10
Gameplay 9/10
Graphics 7/10
Multiplayer/ 8/10

That way people can better decide via what is most important to them.

GameTrailers does that.. sort of^

Except they still sum their verdict up for one total score.
