I read/watched IGN's OMG!!!/100000000000 review and few other things declaring this the greatest thing since C-64 and remain completely unclear what makes this so different and awesome from previous GTAs.

''So Los Santos is a place of contrasts, of luxury and poverty, tranquility and violence, beauty and ugliness. GTA V is an imperfect yet astounding game that has great characters and an innovative and exciting narrative structure, even if the story it uses that structure to tell is hobbled at times by inconsistent character behavior, muddled political messages and rampant misogyny.''
-Carolyn Petit
So bad. She just keep on contradicting herself. She seem to be conflicted by her personal taste and her agenda has a professional critics. It's make my heads spins. It's a mess of a review.
They gave The last of us 8 and total war rome 2 an 8 also ( which is the most bugged game I ever played )
Hard to take them seriously at this point.

That is how you do a review for a game.

"I assume by the wistful way you refer to the old games that you liked them just fine. I have to ask: Did the super shoddy veneer of Tommy V. doing some robin hood-type missions or Niko being a scrappy underdog really make you ok with killing hundreds of people? If you are offended by the violence in GTA games, then so be it-- I actually think that is a perfectly reasonable way to feel about the entire franchise. But you can't seriously expect me to believe that paper-thin plot devices in the other games are what made it ok for you to run down people and beat up hookers. Tommy and Nico did awful, horrible, terrible things-- things you as the player made them do. And to say it was all fine then but is now offensive because Rockstar hasn't given you a good enough excuse to continue on your rampaging is laughable. Again, if GTA as a concept sickens you, I think that's 100% cool. I have realized that when my girlfriend walks by and sees me playing one of the GTA games and makes a disgusted face, I haven't a leg to stand on. I'm making the character do these things and there is absolutely no way for me to justify them ("Honey, it's ok-- Nico really has a heart of gold!", I imagine myself saying while I press a button that instructs Nico to bounce some guy's head off the pavement so I can steal his car). You're living in a fantasy land if you think tired character traits and worn out tropes of the previous games that painted these guys as maybe a bit sympathetic at times somehow relieved you from the responsibility of having the main character do brutal acts of violence. You weren't some moral crusader when playing the previous games-- you were the same gamer, wallowing in the cartoonish fun the rest of us were, whether you want to admit that or not.
I'm fine with the score, I just wish it wasn't mostly based off the argument above. Also, I learned pitifully little about the actual game from this article."

hell I hate Geralt in Witcher 2, but If i did a pro review I would put that aside.

Anyways, I want to remind you that GTA IV is still one of the top ranked games of all-time on Metacritic, but it apparently shouldn't be the case as the amount of ****ing and complaining I've read about it just before the release of GTA V tell me that people've had problems with it.
Hell, I've seen some reviewers noting the serious nature of GTA IV in their reviews of GTA V, often as a minus. What for ? The loveeed it when it came out, no love now ?
Sometimes I feel [just like with the Gamespot review] that some of these reviewers are almost too intimidated to criticize GTA too much, just because it's GTA. Legendary. Highest budget ever. Masterpiece and so on, so forth. Then again I feel like the review from Escapist [which gave it a 7, for what can be pretty much summed as "protagonists are despicable, bad guys and its hard to connect to them"] is a simple bait for clicks and ad revenue, but bah...
Still, I'm gonna play the hell out of this game. If it comes to PC, which I'm worried about seeing as there is still no RDR on the horizon.

That article talks about how reviews are paid. "Coincidentally" The Last Of Us and GTA V got 10s. Lost Planet 3 got a 7, the list said it would get an 8 and BioShock Infinite got a 9.4 although it said it would get a 9, even then I'm starting to wonder, those two were pretty close to what they said they would get.
Even if GTA V is a very good game it is not perfect. It is also very strange that GTA V is also one of the most advertised games in that site.
MGS5 a 10/10? Don't count on it. One of IGN's writers scolded the game something fierce recently.

Has for Geralt. Yes.. I hated him has my protagonist. Figure. Opinion.
Read X review and if you don't agree with the criticism that someone had.. Move on and read another review.
Until you can make you own choice based of the kind of review that seem to have the same kind of thinking you would have.
That what everyone should do. Of course I am going to critic review I don't agree with.
Remind me of my crazy ex .. I would debate and she would throw a tantrums when the debate would start to heat up . THan I had to explain me to her each time. Like I would do with a children. How I was not against her. It was simply a frigging debate and a frigging opinion, but she would take everything personally.. Celibacy was never so great. i thinking of becoming Asexual.
Bad bad memory resurfacing.

Yeah I have my doubts about that too. However I do remember Splinter Cell going there was no end to the praise they gave to Conviction, even if it did the same thing that MGS is doing now. Same happened with Blacklist, the change in actor, the 24 style story garbage, etc. and they regard it as an AMAZING game when it really isn't.
I guess we'll see how much of that list ends up being right, so far it has had a few mistakes but not by much.

1) I am nowhere near finished
2) The Los Santos area isn't that large, but the countryside is immense
3) Trevor is really crazy
4) The driving is much better than IV
5) The shooting is like Max Payne 3 crossed with RDR
6) There is heaps of car customisation
7) Michael's son reminds me of myself WAY too much
