Yes it was. GTAV was at least enjoyable(not as good as SA or RDR which are still Rockstars best) but GTAIV was a goddam joke and by far Rockstars worst game.KotorEffect3 wrote...

I personally think its one of the weaker GTA's, but I wouldnt call it bad and I still really enjoyed the game.

Dude look at the website you are posting on. Apparently it's cool to hate everything here especialy if it is current gen. I loved running around a fictionalized recreation of New York City while climibing up in the world of organized crime as a hitman for the mob. Plus Niko was a great protagonist. Still my favorite gta protagonist to this day.

I will admit that that GTA 5 is a much better game than GTA 4 and that RDR is better than 4 as well (though I personaly prefer GTA 4 to RDR) but SA better? It might have been great back in the day but I tried it out after my cousins just drooled on about how great it is and maybe this is because I didn't come to the GTA party until GTA 4 came out but I found SA unplayable and too dated for my tastes.

But you're here. It'd be hella rude to do that now. I legit missed you around here. Stupid David7204 (or however it's spelled) is trying to take the BioWare mantle away from you. You should show him how it's done.KotorEffect3 wrote...

Not here silly. In ME3 threads. You're the OG messiah. David's just some New Age messiah trying to live up to your legend.KotorEffect3 wrote...

Yeah, once you beat the game there isn't much to do.
You've got all that money but what do you put it in? Stocks? That'll make more money.
Businesses? They'll call you from time to time to send you on a side mission.
Vehicles? They'll get you around.
All the other little things like tennis and golf? They don't cost that much.
There isn't really a money-sink in the post-game.

Except for the MP, but that's going to be a real money sink. Gotta love microtransactions.LPPrince wrote...

One does not simply stop getting in trouble with the law in a GTA game. You'll always need guns.LPPrince wrote...

I did a similar thing with GTA:VC not long ago; in my head it still looks and plays like 5, but I downloaded in on PSN and couldn't stick it for more than 5 minutes. I think SA is still perfectly playable though.KotorEffect3 wrote...

I hate GTA4 and RDR for the same reasons:
1) They take what I thought was fun and unique about their respective franchises and throw it out the window in some quest to be taken seriously. GTA lost all its optimism and almost-trademark over-the-topness, and Red Dead did pretty much the same thing; both were oppressively bleak, especially compared to their predecessors. And...
2) After spending all of both games clawing and scraping to make the protagonist's life even slightly less crappy, both games climax by taking a huge #2 right on top of you just as it looks like you've made it, rendering all that clawing and scraping pretty much pointless.
Happily, GTA5 solves both of these; the fun is back, and even though the ending is hardly the "I win." of San Andreas, it's not the "Gotcha!" tragedy of 4.

My memory is hazy so forgive me if my thinking is wrong but I don't remember Red Dead Revolver being all that optimistic in tone.nerdage wrote...

True, it's the crazy I miss from Red Dead mostly. Redemption seemed much closer to Gun in terms of its character, but then even Gun managed to have a bit of fun along the way as I remember it, where Redemption was pretty relentless with its seriousness.J. Reezy wrote...

There are parts of Revolver I've remembered for ages, like the fat guy covered with explosives and the snake oil boss, but Redemption wasn't that long ago and the only two things I really remember are tying up some random civilian and putting them on a train track, and getting gunned down outside my house after finally being rewarded for all my work.
