I've come to a definite conclusion about combat.
What if ME3 is nothing but a run-and-gun shooter?
Good.
The Reapers, through their proxies, committed massacre on Eden Prime. They forced my Shep to leave Ashley Williams to her death on Virmire. Shep’s been forced to slay thousands by his own hand, with thousands more through the actions he’s led. He’s a monster to the whole Batarian species and considered a traitor by some at home.
Reaper actions forced my Shep to kill the indoctrinated mother of his lover before her very eyes. Now they want to kill Liara too, and everyone else.
He’s seen the Prothean visions. He knows what they were. He’s seen what the Reapers turned them into.
The Reapers’ minions killed him. He’s only here because he cheated death. They melted thousands of human beings, including one who died pleading with a helpless Shep to save her. My Shep still has nightmares about that.
The man my Shep was is gone. He’s become something of an angel — a steely-eyed bringer of God’s justice upon the wicked. He was always ready to kill. We was always able to kill. Now he wants to kill.
If Balak the terrorist showed up with a workable plan to kill a Reaper by slamming an asteroid into it, my Shep would gladly work with him.
If dying would rid the galaxy of the Reapers, he’d go for good this time.
You people only talk about role-playing. I'm there. I'm not playing any more. This stopped being a voyage of self-discovery or the weaving of an heroic tale a long time ago for Cmdr. Frank Shepard, the Earth-born orphan who only joined the service to get out of the hole he was in. This can only end with either the death of every Reaper or of all space-faring intelligent life in the galaxy.
There is killing to be done. My Shepard's ready.

In what possible capacity did it fail? It was commercially successful, and its critical reception was stratospheric. You cannot possibly deem that a failure - you can say you don't like it, and thats fine, its your opinion and you're entitled to it - but saying it failed is wrong. Entirely wrong.Ricinator wrote...

Since HL2 is the best game I've ever played, TF2 coming close behind it, I'm with you.

All opf these bolded words were in ME2 and are confirmed for ME3, sure you might not count the ME2 way of exploring the usual RPG way, but it's still there and you can't deny it, no matter what you say.
And as Chris said himself, more things will be shown between now and release, teh game is 5 months away and now isn't the time to show the game off, if you bothered reading that you might not have even posted that.

Yeah, because they didn't take out anything for ME2. Sadly for you, I can deny it, because what you call exploration, I call LINEAR 5-15 minutes misions. Conversations, Imported saves and other things? Yeah, Conrad and lots of Emails. All that is confirmed for ME3? Combat (and here goes weapon, armor and skills too), Kinect and MP are the confirmed features, the rest isn't.
Simple, look at the most rated comments on the video posted in this thread. It's you who can't deny that there are lots of people that don't like the direction EA/Bioware is taking with it's marketing.

The lack of Episode 3 is starting to get annoying. No matter how good it is it will never live up to its own hype now.aridor1570 wrote...

Tell me, what do you count as exploration? exploring the galaxy for uncharted planets, or exploring a small map that no matter which way you take you'll have the same ending?

If uncharted planets had things to be discovered, misions or stories to complete, that would count as exploring. I think you asked that thinking that I want ME1 style of "Exploration", which I never said I want. But ME2 "Exploration" just doesn't exist. I said I wanted to see how ME3 Exploration is going to be since Bioware told there will be exploration in the game. If they would release a video showing exploration, conversations, a little side mision, some weapons, armors and skills customization. The people would stop complaining. But they didn't and I bet that like I said, in the next BW pulse ep, they will only show weapons, armors and skills. That's the problem. Everything showed is focused on combat, and again, that's something you can't deny.
