I hope there won't be any scenes that involves the screen getting dark. Just like the Blooming Rose in DA2.

Well you did pay to get screwed, and well, screwed you got.

Can't see why you're complaining.

So tasteful sex scene = nude sex scene?

Yeah I think you need to rethink that.

'xactly. I'll go for another Ashley-like love scene. It shows a bit skin, but not too much. Most of it is for player's imagination - and I'm fine with that. No need to see naked Ashley to imagine her beauty ...

Yeah, I liked the ME1 love scene.  They can show them together under the sheets or something!!  Shower scene of them together would rock! :D

They need to be a bit more creative and make it seem more real!

I'm tired of riding clothes to illustrate doing it.  Dragon Age for starters. Yeah, I know about the mod.  Only have the ps3 so didn't do that.

Witcher 2 surprised me. Triss and Witcher was a lovely romance scene.  The hookers, not so much.  Could care less about them.  He was faithful to Triss.   And Heavy Rain was done well too!   You had to initiate the romance to get that far to do it in the hotel room. :P

OMFG. i would like to have nude sex scenes in me3. not to sound like a creeper or anything. there should also be the option to cheat on current LI that way you could be f***ing Miranda, Kasumi, Liara, and Ashley at the same time! ;-D

I'd pick that for a renegade!Shepard.

My paragon!Shepard is loyal like an old dog. Either Ashley or forever alone.
Err ... maybe not. But most likely. If not, then either Miri or Tali. Depends on who fits better to paragon!Shep.

ik but still its so hard to pick one.

I don't think nudity is essential in ME3, but I think the OP has a point, it's a little disturbing how people diss him/her as immature but they automatically think nudity equals pornography. In today's media, specially in games you can kill people by the dozen, decapitate, eviscerate, get you character literally dripping from you enemies' guts but a nipple is taboo.

Compared with other media, like literature and cinema videogames are weak in portraying characters' relationships, first because not many games bother to have a good narrative to begin with and second because the industry is still considered child's territory and most games tackle nudity in a very wacky way (see God of War, the prime example of how to trivialize nudity in an completely puerile and immature way) thus providing constant obstacles for games to approach more complex and varied themes and preventing them to reach their full potential as entertainment.

I don't think nudity is necessary in ME3, no, but I'd like for Bioware to do it, because they're a reference of RPGs and generally character driven games, and I'd like for them to take a stance and show how you can actually do it, that you can use nudity, just like in good cinema and literature, to provide a tasty vision of the consummation of two characters' relationship without need of recurring to a juvenile "OMG boobies" scene and at the same time be unapologetic about featuring sexuality as an essential part of human nature.

I know I'm being idealistic and delusional about it, but really it is disheartening how media with such potential is taken back by the likes of Fox news and company, and when a developer feels they can be open about nudity they use it in the worst way possible, I just want for someone, anyone to publish a game showing it can be done, tastefully, artistically and as an additive to make the story better, ME1 was close to this, Heavy Rain as well but then we went back to the awkward underwear sex scenes once again.

There's intimacy like in ME1, and then there's catering to a segment of the population's pornographic fantasies like in TW2.

I hope everybody and especially the ME team knows how to distinguish between the two.

Honestly, I don't TW2 is that bad. It's a European game, after all, and we don't make such a big deal about nudity.

That said, I'd prefer the ME1 approach any day.

If you notice, there is nudity in both games' sex scenes. Nudity itself isn't the issue, it's what you do with it. In one case, it's there to say something about a relationship, while the other is there just for the boys to watch. (<-- that's the reaction TW2 is going after.)

Without nudity, this game has no credibility as a mature game.

With this sentence you lost all credibility as a non-troll poster.

Oh come on. Blood foutains and cut off heads are ok, but when it comes to naked boobs everyone is freaking out??

Anyone else sees how ridiculous this is??

:pinched:

Read carefully.

That's not the point I was making at all.
Don't make me out to be a Fox News reporter.
All I'm saying is that nudity isn't the main attraction. Nudity is merely the cherry on top.
Great if it's there, but like blood fountains and decapitations, if the gameplay is poor, I couldn't care less.

The only thing I'm freaking out about is that no one really understood what I was saying and assumed that I was against that sort of thing.

You know? I actually agree with you almost 100% here. The real problem is that it's an incredibly fine line to walk, especially in a medium that the masses see as being for kids and teenagers, despite how many of us adults are actively engaged in it. And the potential media blowback for doing it poorly can have a massive negative impact on a product's sales.

I'd actually love to see a gaming industry that was moved more towards what you're describing, but I think we're still a couple years out from it yet. It's difficult for a medium to portray more adult themes when people at large view it as more of a toy than a legitimate form of mass media.

Yeah, kinda wanna see this - a Shepard with LI should get some kind of bonus out of this. Maybe because s/he gains more morale (I'm fighting for us - making his/her job more personal) or so.

Actually, I'd like have some influence on that romance scene.

A mostly paragon!Shepard should be able to pick some paragon!options for a more sensual experience. S/he is not here for cheap sex but because s/he wants to make love with his/her LI. Works fine for me.
Sensual stuff, not too much skin, lets say I go for that Ashley-scene in ME.

A mostly renegade!Shepard is more for hawt sex. It'll be more about the physical act and less about emotions - still, it should be not cheap but beautiful to watch. Lets say it's more "Miranda-like".

And then there should be a mix of both if your Shep is more neutral.

Also it should have an influence if your Shepard is loyal or not: Only one LI - even more if your LI lasted as long as the character had a role in the game, meaning Liara, VS from ME -> ME3, everyone else from ME2 -> ME3.
A loyal Shepard should be rewared with either a second, more meaningful scene or have more influence on that single scene.

Something like that.

If tastefully and appropriately done, yes.

You can't just say "Add nudity to all ME3 romance scenes! Total win!" I get the point you're making, and there's a good deal of truth to it. However, it depends from scene to scene.

Capturing the intimacy with someone you've had a relationship with for(potentially up to) 3 titles, knocking boots is meant to be a surrending your body to someone you truly trust and care for. So yes, that means nudity. You don't have to start flashing it everywhere, but it's part of getting sex scenes right.
