Ever take Aveline into the fade?

It turns out that Aveline has this interesting Shield Bash power which wipes out my Hawkes hit points. This is on Hard by the way. So I ended up having to kite a couple of times when my hit points got low. That was quite fun actually. Anyway somehow dog and Varric finished her off for me ha ha.
Anyone else have stories about the Fade portion?

Much better than Fenris, that little #$%* kept dropping my entire squad with just one 'tornado' swing during my first attempt with him.

Fenris made me cry multiple times, and Isabela is just... Urgh....

This evening I took Aveline into the Fade; her temptation and aftermath dialogue still hurt because it feels so real and inevitable. How many people could resist an opportunity to save a passed love one?

Or you can turn off all their tactics and set them to "passive" (that worked pre-1.03 anyway, I haven't tried it in quite a while), which I find a little faster than stripping their gear.
Edit: Oh, wait, there was also that one time when Merrill slaughtered me in half a second. I still have no idea how or what she even did. It was just "I cannot put you above my people" and then bam, resume most recent save. It's always the cute ones.

The thing is that if you've played the game once you know these fights are coming. If you have an ability on Hawke (or a still loyal companion) that will immobilise or cause a knock back you can use that straight up (pause at the start of combat if needed) before the relevant companion has time to act. Should be an easy fight from there.
True.
For me. since I was playing a DW rogue with my Fenris 'issue', I had to time using the evade ability.
The reason I was getting my ass handed to me was, almost instantaneously, right after the cutscene ended, is when he swung.

Uh..but it wouldn't affect me because I'm totally not evil enough to take that deal. I mean, 6 attribute points (equivalent of two extra levels without any enemy scaling) or a warm fuzzy feeling and a worthless book.. warm fuzzy feeling all the way

I tell Torpor to get bent and then just summon the rune with the console. /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/80576.gif

As for the torpor thing. I usually tell him to get bent because I'm not usually evil and giving someone to the demons is not something I tend to do.
