I've been working on this Campaign , off and on, for about two years. I'm working on the last module and seeing a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So I thought I'd do a 'Coming Soon! To a Vault near you!' Post.

The setting is in the Forgotten Realms in the Melvaunt, Dragonspine Mountain region. Your PC will start at level one and be able to use the Soz party editer to create up to three companions plus one companion that your PC will meet,  and is part of the story.

Right now, I'm guessing, it will end around level seven. I'll estimate about eight to nine hours of game play. I didn't focus on role play, but I tried to add as many player choices where ever I could. Actually, right now at this point, I'm not sure what it is. I know i have had, and I'm still having, a lot of fun building this and I can't wait to hear other opinions.

Well, I'm gonna get back to work on Boss Fights that are litterally kicking the living $&*@# out of my party! Oh yeah, you have to save the Realms from certain destruction again, Sorry. But your an adventurer, you can handle it.

Aw bummer! I'm releasing my campaign based in Melvaunt next week!

Just kidding. Sounds great. Always good to have new releases. Must feel great to get near the end after two years. Congrats!

Kamal, Thanks. Thars a place where evil exists, and maybe a place where an adventurer would travel to.

There really isn't enough to do in the Dragonspine Mountains, Melvaunt or Thar (isn't Thesk also in that area?) for the player these days -- well, if memory serves, there was precious little to do there officially from TSR or WotC -- ever. One of the most underserved areas for adventuring -- and it just seems *SO RIGHT*, doesn't it, that there should be more to do for us lowly players in that area?

Looking forward to seeing your final results. I love the Moonsea, since Pool of Radiance in the Gold Box days and that I could never more than barely enter the Dragon Spine (or the Spine of the World) was always very frustrating to me.

And, just as a curious by the way, Hilltop 2012 sounds so, SO "Board Wargame"ish to me that I have to wonder -- was there a specific Avalon Hill or SPI game that inspired your handle? Enquiring minds want to know -- well, at least I do.

Coold, I liked The Night of the Dead (I think that was that the name of one of your modules, or something similar, sorry if I can't recall the exact name), so I'll see about playing this one when it's out.

Little off-topic: DNO, there are at least two modules with "Thesk" in the title, if you haven't played them and are interested. I liked the first, I haven't played the second yet but it's in my to-play list.

I used Mysteries of the Moonsea and a book by Richard Baker, the Swordmage as references. I chose that area so I could make anything up and not interfere with too much Forgotten Realms canon. At least I hope not, :)

This is the area I used for the Dragonspine Mountains: nwvault.ign.com/View.php

This is the area I used for the Ride: nwvault.ign.com/View.php

Thanks Alupinu, I'll get some screenshots up.

Theres a couple of old screen shots here: social.bioware.com/project/3379/#details

Arkalezth,

Thank you. It was Festival of the Dead, ;)

Dno,

As much as I hate to admit it, the handle doesn't mean anything, that I'm aware of. I can't even remember where I came up with it, lol.

It doesn't matter that the name doesn't have any deep signifigance. It sounds good and that's important. A good sounding name is like the pretty girl at the dance. Guys are going to dance with her even though they have no idea why she is dressed up like a care-bear.

Oh, nice. I look forward to seeing what you have done with some of the neglected areas of the Realms.

I am pretty sure Hilltop was the starting village in Shadows of Undrentide.

This sounds cool. I had fun playing night of the dead and I image I will have fun playing this too.

Beware lights at the end of the tunnels though ... Choo Choo!

I will definitely keep my eyes open for this one's upcoming release.

Hmm, I was just wondering about the handle. It doesn't *mean* anything!?! Heaven forfend! Luck of the random thought, I guess.

I'll have to look into those Thesk modules... I prefer to check out places that have little canon lore about them. It opens up many varied possibilities that are hard to get away with in other, more canonically rich areas.

And yes, I always wonder, when I see light at the end of the tunnel, if I was sure about that train schedule.

Just stopping in to add that I'm also looking forward to this project. Both for the party editor function, and the setting. Really, anything going back to the Moonsea region is fantastic.

Harumph!

Dorateen,

Just a reminder that modules can, with a little effort, be converted to a campaign and then altered to allow the party editor.  I posted instructions on how to do that in the Toolset How To thread. Maybe we should have a community project to convert abandoned NWN2 modules to campaigns.

Regards

Meet Jenna. Raised on the open plains of the Ride by a fierce Barbarian clan known as the Utgath. Although she has the heart of a warrior, she never followed the ways of her kin. Upon entering puberty, she learned of an innate ability to wield majic. A secret that had to remain hidden. Its discovery would mean certain death at the hands of her clansman. The Utgath do not trust majic.

Almost sounds like the bio from an online dating site. Picture is good. Nice background. I'd throw in some likes and dislikes. Probably her zodiac sign too, just for good measure...

Likes: Rainbows, puppies and Fireballs.
Dislikes: Rain, spicy food and Kobolds. Because Kobolds are icky.

Pj, Took me a few minutes, but I found it! nwvault.ign.com/View.php

Oh yeah, I checked the light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think it's a train. It'd wreck my day if it was though! lol

Yes, there's something about those frontier/borderland regions that seems very inviting for adventures. The more settled regions almost feel bland by comparision. Another such locale is Damara. I'm not sure if anybody has a NWN2 module for that area though, but perhaps I just missed it. As for source material, they did release Mysteries of the Moonsea, which describes Melvault and a few adventure locales around Thar.

I'm putting together an upload package for drop box. Anyone want to give it a test drive?

All I lack is finishing one exterior area and about two and a half pages of small fixes and tweaks. I probably need to do a lot more, I just can't see it yet.

I'm too picky, you'd see your two and a half pages. You should probably just fix those first, if they're small they should be relatively quick to fix, and will give testers a better experience.
