An off button for homosexuality?

What's next? An off button to disable asians because they make someone uncomfortable? An off button for whites, blacks, hispanics, etc?

An off button for religion?

An off button for saying mean or angry things?

Where do you draw the bloody line and say "One of these is offensive and I should be able to turn it off".

See... you already have this power... the same power you possess when you watch a movie or TV show.... if you're watching a TV show, reading a book or watching a movie that has homosexuality in it.... just turn it off / close the book / get up and leave ..... The same applies to a video game. Don't like something in it? Shut it off and throw it away.

People are "offended" by an endless number of things in this world.... creating an "off button" to hide from what "offends" you is not a practical or realistic solution.

Before I go into a lengthy rant.. I'll just leave this short video here... he says it far better than I ever could:

There should be an off button for life, that way no offensive content could possibly be seen!

So, it's right to show the kids Shepard commiting Genocide, kill countless people and execute people in cold blood, but not love and/or sex between two people?

Nude sex scenes in ME3.

Don't say anything, just think about it.

Now let's discuss. ME is a game, that is aimed towards mature gamers. The trilogy has so far had excellent moments: choices between life and death, suicide missions and massive moral dilemmas. But then, when it
comes to romances... the game falls apart. After all that time you spent on romancing Jack ('cause let's face it, people who romance Tali or Miranda are just lonely, insecure nerds, LOL), all you get it is a tasteless sex scene.

This. Game. Needs. Nude. Sex. Scenes. Without nudity, this game has no credibility as a mature game. Without
accurately describing the unity of Shepard and Jack, this game can't be anything more than a kiddy space shooter story.

I rest my case.

*goes to make some popcorn*

you guide your own kids down the right path if it is so important to you. it's not anybody else's responsibility. if you cannot do it by yourself, then why did you have kids in the first place?

if you don't want them to be exposed to teh gayness, then don't buy the game! simple as that.

is it so hard? i bet your kids play Sims. did you know you can have uber gay sims? i haven't seen anyone complain about being able to have gay sims...

I think that we need a Off/On button for homosexual content.

I don't. And I'd be incredibly surprised if the BioWare Community could unanimously agree with you. Personally, I think this is trolling. To give the benefit of the doubt, I completely disagree with you, but I can give one strong reccomendation if you have issues with homosexual content:

Try another Game Development Company.

To the original poster:

Here's a suggestion, and this is the nicest thing I can say to you right now despite your lack of respect for those who do not share your faith or your views.

Go back to your own little corner of the world, and cut yourself off from any sort of "immorality".

Had you of chosen a less provocative way of requesting an option for this, I may have had a little shred of respect for it - but the fact you've called it a "turn off immorality button"...

This is a troll, it looks like. The user's other threads would make for a drastically divided Christian father, if they were being serious.

I've PMed Chris Priestly.

It's probably quixotic to hope people will stop posting in this now...

I completely agree. I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised to see EternalAmbiguity or whoever rushing into the thread saying "How come people are called trolls or bigots if they want to get rid of homosexuality!?" as usual. The OP may be a troll, but some people believe the things the OP is saying, and as we've seen in other threads, use threads like this to try and claim that "Christians are called trolls around here!"

Shooting and blowing people up? Fine. Swearing and sex scenes? Fine. Alcohol and drug usage? Fine. Homosexuality? Absolutely NOT! Think of the children!

Moral of the story: you should ask bioware to not make mass effect at all...

Now please, don't attack me just yet. I am a good, normal christian father, and all I ask you to do, Bioware, is think of the children. I personally do not aim to show this kind of videogame to any of my sons, but I worry about the young generation, or the part of it, which doesn't have any kind of  guidance from responsible parents that would prevent them from taking a wrong path.
A young mind can be easily confused. If you show to children, in this game, that homosexuality is in some universe completely okay, this will have an effect on them. As members of this fine, christian society, we have a RESPONSIBILITY. for these kids. We all know that this is a mature game, not meant for kids, but without any doubt some will play it and some will watch it. We can't be showing our kids contradicting material, we can't corrupt their heads with such immorality.

Surely guiding children down the right path is more important than petty money you get from catering to those kind of people, Bioware?

Thank you.

cool story, bro.

Eugh I hate serious  moral imperialism from both sides. So incredibly dull.

All I need to know about life and society I can get from Monty Python frankly.

e.g. The Mouse Problem.

Arguments don't work that way. You either say that God exists but he is a bad, or you say that he doesn't exist and then he is nor bad nor good. Saying that God doesn't exist because God is bad is a paradox. ^_^

Untrue.

Like any fictional character I can criticise him and apply appropriate labels based on his actions.

Why not have an all-encompassing "turn off sex" button. Nobody would ever make sexual passes at Shepard; all romance scenes end in an intellectual conversation around breakfast; and those dancing asari in all those clubs? They'd be replaced by elderly men sipping tea.
