This is the one reason of "my hate". I take Isabela Arishok for her actions. And what happen in end of game? He run away form qunari, b*tch.Quething wrote...

(3) After stealing the relic, Isabela's ship fought a qunari warship but Isabela still somehow survived even when most of her crew died. Again, Isabela should have died.
I think her objection to "qunary warship" is actually in reference to Isabela's escape from the Arishok if you hand her over. The game is mocking her, see. It gives her this perfect chance to punish Izzy for herindifference to sexist patriarchal reproductive mores"betrayal of Kirkwall" by sending her off to be mindraped by the Qunari, and then snatches that petty vindictiveness away by saying Isabela escaped anyway and you didn't manage to punish her at all.
(You'd think people could get some satisfaction out of the sheer cruelty of betraying her in the first place when Hawke's the first person she's ever started to believe she could trust, but I suppose nothing is sufficient punishment for a woman who dares to enjoy sex.)
I hope in DA 3 she will be cruelty killed. Why I can kill Anders, but not this woman?

She's really a pain in the ass that way. She's the only companion I find myself having to metagame to keep :/

I have to metagame to get her to take the damn book, otherwise even if I tell her to give it back to the Qunari she comes back to help in the end, I am actually reaching the point where I miss Fenris offering my up to the Arishock on a silver platter with his talk of honour, I think my precious elf often forgets I am a support mage. So usually it's nice to have her come back no matter what. But it have been hard working to find a way to make her leave.

I agree. Antivans speak Spanish, after all. Zevran says "si amor?" to a romanced Warden, and Vincento (Feynriel's father) says maldición.
Perhaps you are right, i just always saw them as Italian and the Rivaini as Spanish, but aside from Isabela i don't really remember anyone from there, much less one speaking the native tounge.
It seemed to me like the people of the Kingdom of Rivain were black, like Isabela or Duncan (according to "The Calling" identifying him as looking like he was from Rivain), although there's relatively little known about Rivain to really compare it to any nation or group of people in the real world.

Rivain sounds more like pre-Reconquista Spain, actually. The Qunari, Andrastians, local religions, and Dalish all live there in relative harmony and the one major Rivaini we met was a pirate. Moors were known for their naval prowess and many became pirates on the Meditteranean, and during the days of al-Andalus, Christians and Jews lived alongside (if not equally) with the ruling Muslim moors.

My first playthrough, we got into a fight over the book. I felt so betrayed, used, and lied to. She never came back to make things right, and if that Hawke ever comes across her, she'll be a dead pirate. Izzy was responsible for so much strife and death, and she runs away. Isabela's only love is for herself. "Friendship" is only a convenient tool for her to use when it suits her purposes.
I've kept her in one playthrough just to see, but I had to really metagame to make her come back. I've got a 3rd playthrough where I'm not even recruiting her at all. I'd like to see how the story goes without her in it.

It's interesting but the other character that garners this much hate: Anders is flat in literary terms where Isabela is...well-rounded.
You can have her come back with the book at the Arishok duel based on how you treated her. Meaning she grew as a character beyond selfishness and apathy, whereas nothing in the game will stop Anders from blowing up the chantry.
I've never seen a thread where people defend Anders like this, he's almost universally hated. If you know of one please link it, I'd be interested to see it.

Isabela's betrayal is more likely the issue. But overall her very life is at stake, and that's what I believe she adores the most. To single-handedly beat up Qunari along Hawke's path, while carrying that tome in one arm, to face what could be certain-death anyway...
In fear, we all act irrational, but whether some people amend a mistake or not is up to who the victims are. And for most Isabelas, Hawke was someone she wasn't willing to risk. Although she had a bit of bad timing, but meh.
And then there's the Isabelas that say "Thanks for the ride Hawke. Good luck, adios" and run to enjoy her life.

I first loved her, but after the Qunari-Thing, I hated her.
Normally, I always give her to the Arishok.

You can dislike the actions of a character but still like the way a character is written. A character that ellicits a strong response is usually a well written character. I was like that with Ashley in ME1, hated her opinions but she was IMO the best written character in that game.Porenferser wrote...

I thought Anders was a very well written character in DA2 as well. Act 3 was largely a misfire, some really good ideas that did not get executed very well. But Anders contribution was great. It was easily the high point of the act for me, one of the most horrifying yet argueably justified and important story actions in computer game history. There was a big thread arguing the rights and wrongs of this somewhere in here.Otaking_EA wrote...
