Game Informer will post teaser image from the new franchise THIS MONDAY!

The annual Video Game Awards show is just around the corner and teases for this year's big announcements have begun.

Three promised reveals include a look at a brand new franchise from BioWare, the developer behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age. We'll also get a look at the next Alan Wake title and a full reveal of Metal Gear Solid: Rising. We'll have the first teaser images of these titles this Monday at Gameinformer.com (also featured in the December issue), so check back then.

I thought I read somewhere that they have no intention of making another JE game. *sadface*

Still, I'm excited at something new.


EDIT: This is where I read about no Jade Empire 2. I don't know if it's accurate or not, but it seems likely.

In October 2011, it was confirmed by BioWare staff that Jade Empire 2 had been in development. However, it had been canceled shortly after production had begun due to the project lead's lack of vision and story clarity. With Mass Effect and Dragon Age in development as well, it was decided to use all resources on these two projects rather then continue with the disorganized Jade Empire 2. It was also stated that the Jade Empire 2 project would never be restarted.

Hmmm...so what is the delineation between a brand new franchise and a brand new IP? New franchise meaning what exactly? That it could be some spinoff of ME or DA or Jade Empire, already existing IPs into a different genre? New franchise kind of makes me think new IP since otherwise a new JE or ME or DA game would be an extension of an existing franchise.

What new studio could it be? Likely BioWare Montreal, since that seems to be where they're trying to get lots of people and its the "newest" one that seems centered on making large scale console games. Otherwise it would be BioWare Mythic or the 2D facebook studio, which I don't think would be worth much notoriety.

Wasn't there that rumor last year that Montreal was working on a modern military focused first person shooter? Wouldn't be surprised if its a BioWare FPS, that seems to fit their current trajectory.

I would like to see something new and refreshing out of Bioware.

I could dream of it being an urban fantasy or gaslamp setting RPG, but either of those is too good to be true. Whatever it is, I hope it deviates from the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games in setting and execution. A new IP with the same basic design principles is not going to set my world on fire.

It can't be a mobile/iOS or Facebook game, you don't debut stuff like that at the VGAs. AAA title.

They're just a tech studio for TOR support. Frankly, I have no idea who's doing it. Maybe Montreal but ain't they busy with ME3 multiplayer? Or maybe they have more than 1 team hmm....

Bioware Montreal is created with sole purpose to assist other studio project.

So far they did ME2 DLC's since Overlord and ME3 Co-Op.


Also it is created in 2009, newest Bioware studio is Bioware Ireland that is created this summer.
My money is on that.

I never heard of it and it's false do to what I said previously.

Also Bioware Montreal is busy with ME3 Co-Op.

Only one that are possible are Mythic and Austin possibly having one for developers team like Edmonton with both Mass Effect and Dragon Age team.

Also it is possible that Edmonton now has 3rd team as well.
