wow you guys treat Chris Priestly like ****, grow up and have respect
I have respect for everyone and I do not see any insult in the replies given to Mr. Priestly. I hope that Bioware and his employes have the same respect for his customers and that they will not insult us anymore with blatant LIES like "autoattack was out of the disk because the dog eat the patch" or "DA2 is not a small in term of content, we have simply compressed it with a revolutionary technology" or "The dev time of DA2 was our choice, EA has not anything to do with it, games come out better when you rush them" or "We allways wanted MP for ME, EA has nothing to do with it" that will be followed by the next one "Command & Conquer is the game we allways wanted to make as a studio".

I see. Tenderizing the temps for the inevitable feast, eh?Back in my day when we ate the dead, we called it canibalism. And we LIKED it!
I must say, that's very efficient of you, Chris. Two birds, one stone and all that.

Sorry man, but you're not inside Chris' head, nor are you even part of the studio. These are just your uninformed opinions rather than fact. That is why people are taking offense to what you're saying, and why it sounds more like whining and insults than criticisms.
Well mate, a part from the last one about Command & Conquer, the previous are all statements that have been reported in the forums by Bioware rapresentatives (yep, I'm joking about the dog eating the autoattack patch but the sense is the same and that's been an official statement). And I could even add more lies or oblivious business/marketing talk that has been told us since EA come in to the Bioware picture.
I could be wrong off course and I will apologize if I'm wrong. It's not personal against Chris: he is doing his job and he told us what his company decide. I really simpathize with him since my work is quite similar and I know that it's very difficult and stressing. But my simpathy for Chris and all the old Bioware's guard is not going to change the current trends or to ease my worries.
I'm not offending anyone being worried: I sincerely hope that that the next Bioware franchise is an RPG but I have founded fear that it will be a MP RTS developed by another studio with Bioware's logo sticked upon the box. I'm not pulling those things out of my head: there is a trailer with tanks and other classic RTS features, EA has the C&C IP (they have it when another glorious studio that they controlled wich was called Westwood, closed doors because of their poor and short term business planning) and Bioware's company profile has been changed adding strategy games to their portfolio.
People are taking offense becuase they do not want to believe that EA is transforming Bioware in to something that completely neglect the history of this glorious and respected development company. I understand the reaction becuase I do not wanted to believe it too untill a few months ago. I was in your camp and I laughed at the "doom sayers". I've started to change my mind since Bioware gave up to EA clueless and blind stupidity on DA2 rushed dev cycle, ME3 MP and Steam.
Fortunately 2012 is near and the world will end anyway

To be fair, this new game is being developed by a new studio. It's basically an EA studio with BioWare's name slapped on it. So I don't really think that the criticism you're leveling is entirely fair or reasonable (though I certainly empathise and share the sentiment).
Also, I'm kinda glad that it's not an RPG franchise.
I mean think about what could happen...

Well, it's not really a criticism. Bioware and EA are free to do what they want and off course I know that my post does not change anything in the big scheme. But I'm worried that even if that strategy gains them a good quarter, it will hurt Bioware name and EA in the long run. All I'm saying is that I would like to see Bioware sticking at what they have done best in the past trying to improve themselves and EA avoiding to turn them in something that does not mean anything anymore, something that is barely recognizable as the Bioware we all come to love so much. Putting their name on a game that they have not developed at all, just because Bioware means quality for many players is short sighted. But I could understand if at least it was an RPG, just like Rockstar who has many franchises developed by different studios who share the sandbox-action element. But an RTS?
Also, I'm kinda glad that it's not an RPG franchise.

LOL, that's hilarious. "Poor" Lord Britain: he is developing games for the iphone after EA
But seriously, it would be interesting to see Bioware and EA finance and support smaller and semi-indipendent smaller studios doing middle tier RPG games.

Hmm I find beating up on people and things is a great form of stress relief my self. Maybe we should combine resources, invent a machine that allows you to punch people through the Internet?
We would make Trillions.

From what I've been hearing the studio is already filled with ex CNC developers anyway. If they make a new CNC game that isn't like the **** that is called Tiberium Twilight then I'm ok with it. Plus if its a second CNC generals then hellz yeah!
Althought part of me is assuming this will be called Mass Effect generals showing the second american civil war or how the Systems Alliance was (really) formed

Though some theories hold that the next Mercenaries game is the mystery reveal EA and BioWare have planned for the Video Game Awards, the smart money is still on a Command & Conquer game. And if that's the case, it'll probably be called Command & Conquer: Alliances if 15 domain registries by Electronic Arts are any indication.
If the reveal on friday isn't Command and Conquer: Alliances, I will literally eat my socks.

No, no it won't. A really unfunny animation show being made into an RPG is a recipe for a FAIL.Gunderic wrote...

C&C I can accept. What would be cool is a C&C FPS like Renegade.

I for one am extremely interested if this is what Bioware is making. RTS is possibly my favourite game genre, although I love RPGs and shooters too. C&C is one of my favourite franchises, and while I was hoping for Generals 2, but after the recent games in the franchise just any good C&C game would be nice.
If its true then I'm surprised Bioware is involved - I mean, they don't have any real RTS experience - but if they can make a good RTS with their excellent writing and story-telling skills then this could be a great game.
I'm kinda hoping its PC exclusive though. I only ever really play on the Xbox, but RTS games are the exception to that. I just don't think they work on the console - Halo Wars and Red Alert 3 just weren't good on the Xbox - so I'm hoping it won't be a consol-ised RTS if it is an RTS. Thats literally the first time I've wanted something to be platform exclusive. For any other game I'll play on my 360, but not RTS games. They just don't work.

I'm surprised this thread isn't more active given this:

I guess it's not more active because it has nothing to do with BioWare, besides being published under the Bioware brand name. A former EA LA studio got renamed Victory Games and worked on a new C&C game for quite some time, and all that happened now is that said studio was pushed into the BioWare brand. So, to be honest, is there anything to get exited about?
