I've just installed ME1 downloaded from Origin.
As I start it appears the screen to start, configure...
When I start the game Windows shows a "Mass Effect stopped working" message and I only can close it.

My hardware is
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair 1600 Vengeance 999
Video card: Radeon HD6770 1GB GDDR5 XFX

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Is there anything wrong with the hardware?

Sorry wrong title, of course it had to be "Win 7 64bit".

step one, update your game.
Step two make sure you are running in XP compatibility mode, and as an administrator.


Step one will probably fix it though.

I've had to apply both the steps, it works now.
