This is probably a stupid question! I completed the suicide mission for the 3rd time last week and all of my squad survived. But I suddenly had this thought about what would happen if only Shepard and one squad member made it through the suicide mission. Firstly is that actually possible? And if it did happen and you still had unfinished missions, would the game allow you to do the missions with a single squad mate? I know it's a daft question! I think I know the answers but I'm kind of intrigued!

If you only have one squad-mate remaining, Shepard dies.

That being said, if you don't do Zaeed's mission until after the suicide mission you can leave him to die on his loyalty mission and I THINK that might allow you to only have one squad-mate but I've never tried it myself.

Ahh, that answers that one then! :o) It's sort of what I thought would happen actually.

It's pretty funny actually. I'm sure there are videos of it on youtube, but a very quick search didn't find any.

Basically the last surviving squadmate jumps on board and then... disappears inside apparently, leaving Joker to help Shepard. And it all goes wrong from there.

Sadly, the game will work with a single squad, found by editing with gibbs, but the devs for whatever reason didn't want it to happen like that.
