I just started a second playthrough with a character, and after playing through Eden Prime and all the stuff on the first Citadel visit, I went straight to get Liara.
The last save I was able to make in a new slot was on Therum in the Ruins (right before the fight on foot with the Armature and other nonsense right before going into the mine. Now whenever I try to save my game, there's no "New Save" option at the top of my list of saved games. I can save over existing saves, but it seems I can't create a save in a new slot with this character anymore.
It appears to only be isolated to this character though - briefly switching to another one showed the "New Save" option.
Any fix for this?

In Mass Effect 1 characters from a New Game+ use the same saves as in their previous playthroughs, right? Then you just reached to save limit for the character.

Could this have anything to do with installing the game? I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but I was able to create saves in new slots with this character just a few days ago, and have a feeling that it was after I decided to install the game that the option disappeared for this guy
