Hello.
Yesterday I decided to buy the DLC Warden's Keep for my Dragon Age: Origins. After close to 30 minutes of minor trouble with buying the points and spending them on the DLC, I encountered an issue: my Dragon Age copy was of the wrong version. Apparently I needed v.1 to be able to install the DLC.
Now the problem is, I bought my DA via Steam. As most steam-users know, steam automatically updates your games for you. I wrongly assumed that un-installing and then re-installing the game, combined with disabling the automatic update-function would solve my problem.
I was wrong. The game still seemed to be the wrong version.
As a last desperate act I used Run to force the install. This worked. However, the problem I face now is that somehow, doing this has put my graphics level down. I know this might sound really shallow, but there is a pain-threshold for how low graphics I can play without it ruining the game. This is way below. My computer can't run higher than "Low" anyhow, but this was just a kick in the face.
I now wonder if anyone out there know what to do. Contacting EA doesn't seem like a bright idea, knowing from personal experience that their priority for their players' problems is lower than a dwarven mine.
If there is no way to fix this problem, do you instead believe I might have a chance to get my circa 70 euro back? Kind of stings in the wallet...

Thank you beforehand.
