 I'm getting frustrated with this one... first part was tough for me to keep all 4 members alive through at first but figured out how to get through it, second part with only Leopold is easy for me, but the third part is what is killing me- INSTANTLY. It seems like the easiest part because Leopold will fall off the edge so you get a bunch of free shots but the exploding arrow traps instant death my entire party every time at some point in the battle. 

I don't know how to avoid them consistently. They cover the whole battlefield except for that ledge part it seems so I put my group together as far away from them as possible and it seems to avoid the blast. Except for at some point in the battle it doesn't work and my entire party is one-shotted. Is there some secret to avoid the explosion?

Nightmare difficulty; party is Tallis, Merrill, Bethany, and DW Shadow/Duelist Hawke

Before the fire traps fire, they glow. this glow shows which way they will go. So, when Prosper leaves the ground, look at the dots and move everyone away from the start of it. When it starts, move your people to the place it started, they should be save there.

There seems to always be a safe spot from the fire. Watch the pattern as they spread and the whole party to the spot of the map as soon as Leopland and Prosper leaps up in safety. Use the hold function if you must.

Does the explosion always start at the wall opposite the ledge? I successfully moved my group out of the way for one and then missed the order for another and had to guess... got blown up...

You're right, the first wave can be avoided by going to the cliff, but the second can't. Here you need to go to the wall on the opposite side of the field, when facing the wall a little on the left there is a spot, where you are pretty save, when you press against the wall during the explosions.
Also, at this part don't bother to kill the spawning guards, they will get hit by the explosions if you stand in the spot I mentioned and even the elite does not to too much damage, the arrows are muuuch more dangerous.

Ok that is what I'm doing wrong; first wave I managed to kill the guards and still keep track of them; second wave I missed it while fighting them. Thanks again everyone who responded for the help it's less frustrating now knowing how the traps work even though I'm still losing ha
