My problem is with Origins scanning everything on your PC, your keystrokes, installed/uninstalled programs, private data, credit card numbers, phone numbers, photo albums, company documents and more. These things have nothing to do with EA products/games so this is a definite intrusion of my privacy. In addition, EA has the complete right to sell whatever information they find to any third party company they see fit. That's my problem with Origin and that is why I'm boycotting it. While I disagree with DRM it hasn't stopped me from buying legitimate games, as my buyer's history with Bioware and my Steam account proves it.
Steam scans practically everything as well, and so do virus scanners and a host of other various softwares..
I can't stand when people bash Origins, while giving Steam a free passHere's an example of Steam scanning a folder that has nothing to do with games or anything:
I've already rejected Steam and don't use it.
However, Steam has nothing to do with EA, ME3, or Origin.

Yes, except the difference is that Steam has an opt out option to disable it on their client. Origin has no such feature and it forces the scan on you regardless.

I also like to smell the disc because it has the smell of ...something "new."
Then it goes straight to the shelf with the rest.

This ....guy should check out how many Xbox games are put on the net. It's amazing what you'll find about your favorite games. When Mass Effect first came out it was an Xbox exclusive. I guess that wasn't pirated...oh wait. Xbox games are actually the first things up on any torrent site. Kinda makes you think, right?

Gonna wait for a discount or sale. Ever since publishers got it into their tiny little brains that it was cool to jack up the price of an already expensive hobby, I've only paid sixty dollars for a new game once and I regretted it ever since.
You've made a fair point.
Besides, if we wait a whole year we "might" get the complete pack with add-ons and such...

Hell, Origin starts scanning BEFORE you've accepted the EULA.

will you be buying me3 out of the shop or online??
I am thinking i'll just be getting it online if it's going to need origin to run...whats the point of getting disc.
I won't be getting it at all if it requires Origin. DVD or Steam only for me. Not having some scumbag sell my infos and preferences to the highest bidder. EA can either sit down, or sit on it and swivel.
Both my ME1 and ME2 saves are on Steam so i want to carry my two main soldiers over. I didn't play the first two games for nothing. I sure as hell will not start afresh by re-downloading/activating them on Origin and play through again just to get to where i was.
Origin is a mess and its spyware. No thanks

Things like Origin and intrusive DRM's actually push people towards piracy. Theres nothing quite so annoying as having to fiddle around to get a legal copy working properly or having to submit to a program invading your piracy when someone who pirates it gets to enjoy the game hassle free.
As said the 360 is far worse for piracy these days. Skyrim is already out before commercial release and thats not unusual for the xbox.
I'll be getting the Collectors editions(if I decide to put up with Origin) as it's the final episode of the trilogy.

Wait a minute, are you saying that if you have the first two games on steam you can't keep your saves for ME3?
