Will you be able to get a "perfect" ending in ME3 without playing 1 & 2?

There has been discussion about what people consider a "perfect" ending. Im more curious as to if you come into ME3 from scratch (brand new with no background to import) if you will be able to get the best possible outcome ME3 has?
Will certain decisions we make in 1 and 2 put us in a position which ME3 players wont see? Do these decisions just give us an advantage over everyone else regardless of actually doing them? Will starting ME3 from sctratch just simply give a more difficult challenge to get the best end?
I suspect that its the latter. That a perfect ending will still be possible without playing ME1 and 2, just really hard to achieve. It makes the most sense, as not to put people off buying because they cant get the best possible outcome. Still I would like to hear if anything has been stated yet and/or if there is a balance to it?

There's won't be a comic like in PS3 ME2, but there will still be an in-game save-game generator of some sorts, most likely the trial hearings.sponge56 wrote...
Yeah most likely, seeing as its going to have a comic where you can choose past actions, like in the ps3 version of me2

as in save everyone and everything?
probably
but i hope not
it would invalidate much of the "choices" of the past

The problem is, people around here... don't believe them.

But can you get the experience of being there at the beginning, working your way through and watching this develop over the course of years? No. That's asking the impossible.
I'd argue that the only way to really get the full experience would be to play it on PC, even. The first game was exclusive to the Xbox 360, but real problems such as the inability to elevate or depress the Mako's gun weren't addressed until the PC port came out.

I'm just going to repaste this comment until the game comes out:
My Cmdr. Frank Shepard is an orphaned kid with no biotics or special tech talents. He joined the service just to get out of the hole he was in. Now he's about to become the greatest hero in history — all of history, which includes the histories of every species aware of and in contact with the rest of the galaxy.
I get to take the whole journey, from beginning to end.
All of us did, the old school players who started with ME1 years ago.
No one else will.
Do not begrudge new players whatever consolations BioWare can still offer them, even if some of it comes at our expense. They will never be able to go where we have already been. Their final victory can never mean so much to them as ours will to us.

I'm sure you will. BW's gone out of its way to reassure PS3 players, for instance, that they're not getting leftovers.

PC port was amazing. I'm still trying to find a place where I can buy it (offline).
However, the Thorian, a lot of the side missions, and all the countless hours I spent on the past two games, I have a feeling won't matter because the new kiddies would cry "UNFAIR."
Look at what ME2 did with the freakin' emails....

Um...they could buy ME1 & 2 if it was that important to them...That's what I did.

I'm a long-time fan of the series, and I'd never manage to say something like that with a straight face. Everyone deserves THEIR VERSION of a fair experience in these games, imho.

Anyway, you could get the "best" ending in ME2 even if you didn't import, so I imagine it'll be something like that. People who import will have more/different tools than a fresh start, but ultimately, both can get the job done.

Well, by that logic, you're s****** if you can't write code and record your own dialogue, because there's no such thing as a version that's fair to everybody.

In mint condition and still shrink-wrapped? Tough search there, Ghost-621. Expect any you find to cost you.
