I have tried to open the glowing chest in Drogan's room. It will not open. Is there any way to unlock it?
There are 2 glowing chests in the gnoll cave. Every time I open them, they are empty. Do they have a purpoes?

Somethings are there for looks only. Sometimes a script is missing and gets overlooked by the builders. SOU was not about the mod that came with the expansion, but the new content added to the game. The mod, was done as an example of the new content, new script systems, etc. While it was a good story, it did have bugs. empty chests that do not spawn loot, is just a small one of many.

OP...

If you are more specific about the exact location (in reference to other nearby items, placeables, doors, etc.) I may be able to check your claim.  I do know there is one chest in the upstairs room of Drogan's house that is just fluff and cannot be opened.  The gnoll cave has too many placeables for any specific ones to come to mind.

The 2 chests are in the kobald cave, not the gnoll cave. I was in the that area last night. The chest are straight across from each other. There is a box, that a kobald jumps out of, just past the chests.

These empty unlocked chests are there to lure the adventurer into a grease trap.

That explains alot. There are alot of boxes with kobalds after the chests.
