Hello,

I am sad to say that I need help again - of course with a new problem this time (^^):

The problem I have is, that I do not get ANY dialogue options in Awakening - not with the merchants, not with the seneschal or anybody else for that matter!

If i click a character I should be able to talk to, I get a rushed scene (like i would be using escape all the time to shorten the dialogue and choosing options and then hitting escape all over again) and then NOTHING I can't choose what to say (I do not even get shown the choices, there is simply no dialogue-options-menue there!)

What I tried up to now:

I reinstalled Awakening, I deactivated and reactivated the Game and I chose to Import another Character...

I am unsure if reinstalling DA:O might help but I have backed up my character files already (just in case) and might try that at a later time...

In the meantime I would appreciate any insight and help you can offer and I would be grateful for any hints/tipps regarding my problem.

with regards,

LAX :)

I ran into this same problem from tweaking around too much with mods and the toolset, only cured from a complete reinstall and wiping the mods. I will add that I didn't have the exact same problem...I only ran into this with some npcs, usually merchants or barkeep's. But it was definetely the same symptom, crazy auto conversations with no dialogue options and sometimes looping.
Having a 5 minuter convo with Bodahn every time you want to buy something because he wants to spout out every possible damn line of conversation he has first gets old real fast.

I admit I'm guessing here, but I suspect your save game will be screwed regardless of reinstall. I think plot flags have to be messed up in order for this sort of problem to arise and once they are saved as such, they might be irreversable. Not really the tip you were looking for I'm sure, but this was the only way I could get rid of the problem.

well i need to completely reinstall anyway (had a crash with my computer and could not get it to boot again so i reinstalled windows...was about time anyway (the installation was a year and a half old...i tend to reinstall every half year because "clean" copies tend to run more stable))

greetings LAX
ps: will get back to you after i have done that...
