Maybe you're right. Still, THE awesome thing about bioware games is the divergent stories, dialog choices, and character customization. What kind of person would bother even buying a mass effect game and skip the very thing that makes it a good game?
Take out the customization and dialog options and you've just got a boring old space marine TPS.
I don't about that... they do a really good job with the shootin' and wootin' in ME2. Granted, I only play on Casual or whatever the easiest mode is, but I find the combat challenege to be perfectly balanced for what I want out of an action game. It's well balanced and I imagine very fun on higher levels of difficulty.
I just think having that menu right up front of the game, bioware is taking a big risk that alot of people are going to, without thinking, switch off half the experience. I'm not usually one for developer forum hysteria or complaining, i'm not the type of person that thinks EA is the devil and is ruining bioware or any of that crap.
But i think having a menu that switches off 50% of your content at the start of your game is a little silly.
Time will tell, my man!

:)

It's rare that I'm the one suggesting people are smart enough to understand the menus! But I think players will understand.... most notably RPG raised, menu readin' fanatical players. We read eeeeevery thing!
