So much to read through, so forgive me if my question is answered somewhere I have not gotten to yet. I have just recently installed the platinum pack, and have been playing through the campain a little. I have a fairly decent computer, but the game gets all glitchie at times. Is there somewhere I can go and download any neccessary updates or patches I may need? I am not even sure which ones I will need.... Is it always nessesary to have your game disk in when running the toolset? how do I update to the latest version?

How do I play the mods and campaigns I download from the vault?

Sorry for being such a newbie, but I got to start somewhere.

v1.23 is the most up-to-date version of the game.

Hello there,
Re your question about modules & campaigns downloaded from the vault - often its just a case of downloading & unzipping (7zip's a good free program for thisif you don't have anything already) the .mod file into your MyDocs/Neverwinter2/Mods folder.

Quite often there's also .Hak files that just need to be unzipped into your MyDocs/Neverwinter2/Haks folder - these provide custom content that the builder's used like creatures, effects & a whole bunch of other stuff - if they're posted on the vault with the module they're essential to download - not having them in your Hak folder won't allow the module to run - so if you ever get error messages when trying to start a community created module - check that you've got any .hak or other extra files & folders unzipped & in the write place.
Some adventures are set up as campaigns - they also have a Campaign folder that needs to be unzipped into your MyDocs/Neverwinter2/Campaigns folder - the main advantage of these is that they allow the use of the Storm of Zehir party editor that lets you create a party of your own characters instead of just a single character + any companions that the builder has created to add to the party.

Have fun with the adventures & ask questions if anything doesn't seem right. (If nothing else - look up on the forums the fix to the camera controls that stops the screen spinning around like a whirling dervish).

Cly.

If you upgrade to 1.23 you won't need to have the game disk in when using the toolset or playing the game.

There are some good tutorials out there... they'll help smooth out a potentially steep learning curve.
