The hard thing in life is to accept that something that is wonderful and worth the time for you, isn't the same thing for someone else.
Ive come to accept that Bioware is now just a label that is used to sucker in the old RPG fans.
Bioware is the new Madden.

Why anyone would let a game make all the decisions for them is beyond me...
But I guess not everyone is as detail-oriented and as nitpicky, so if someone just wants to test one aspect at a time, give 'er.
I'll imagine that when i'm on my 3-4 playthough and just wanna see how the different stories goes and not care about the combat anymore i'll be playing story mode.

People who whine about this is just idiots who think they should dictate how other people should play games.

I think it's a brilliant idea, I know plenty of people who wanna experience the story but aren't so keep on the combat aspects and i also imagine there plenty people who likes the action but don't care about the story.

Been getting that feeling on these forums for quite some time now...

And why? I'm in favor of it. My above comment was directed at the unnecessary snark invading this thread. Too many responses are of the, "I don't like it because it doesn't fit my vision of Mass Effect," variety. I like to poke fun at it.

Perhaps because glib appreciation for making the experience fulfilling was applied beforehand. Context is everything.
I don't know about you, but I personally can't wait for Mass effect '13, the social networking combat game for only 99.99 a month exclusively through Origin! Remember, endless digital copies are limited, so pre-order today and don't forget to ignore the EULA!

Let's not go TOO far now. BioWare makes some questionable decisions but EA Tiburon or whoever develops Madden is on a whole other level imo. It's not even just that studio, EA's destroyed their basketball franchise as well.Bogsnot1 wrote...

EA destroys most if not all good studios it acquires. Remember Westwood and Tiberium wars? They actually managed to get a good game out, TW3, but TW4 was complete horse dung. Lets not hope ME2 is the only good game.

It's only for the demo. Action disables story and leveling up.
Story disables gameplay and leveling up.
RPG disables gameplay and story.

When I first played ME2 I kicked the difficulty level down from Normal to Casual because I got to a point where I was just so immersed into the story, I just wanted to get through it and see everything unfold. Same with the DLCs, I typically play them on Normal/Casual in my excitement to just experience it.
Now, I'm at a point where I'm skipping the story stuff completely and just doing gameplay.
If these settings are what they sound like, I think I'm definitely going to play all three of my careers through in story-mode, just to take everything in.
So excite!

You know what I REALLY wanna be able to skip? The like 20-30 minute unskipable intros that seem to be a staple of the ME games, and seemingly the only parts of the game you can't just X through quickly. Obviously, because I'm one of those people who spends hours recreating a character, making minor tweaks when I get to see the model in actual gameplay. XD

Now that I think about it, if we can set out auto-choices to be all Renegade or all Paragon, I would actually use that feature on my Ultimate Paragon and Renegade playthroughs. It would probably make the cinematics a little more seamless (because there would be no pause while you choose dialogue)>

Mass Effect 2 is meant to be a story based, choice focused, series. So what on Earth makes them think that removing choice was a good option.
The co-op already added the ability to negate all of Shepard's choices, now they've added a mode where you don't even get to make them as Shepard.
Fair enough if people want to play that way, I just don't understand what put the thought in Bioware's head in the first place.

I think it's a great idea. While I personally would want to make choices, I'm sure there will be people out there who want to just experience the combat, and have the cutscenes play out like a movie (as in most games).

If the game is consistent enough with the Paragon/Renegade choices, that is.
