.
The point is that this changes will probably affect the general design of the game.
As someone else said in other topic: "You don't make relevant content if a big part of players are never going to see it". So everything relevant will be in action mode, so everything related to dialogue choosing will most likely to be irrelevant.

If this isn't the very definition of selling out I don't know what is.

You know for all your pretentiousness, don't think you hold any moral high ground, you don't. You simply take a different approach in being the same kind of opinionated **** you assume me to be.
Interesting, I never said you were an opinionated ****. I implied that you and others have an agenda that has less to do with the games quality, and more to do with keeping certain group of fans out of your chosen play area.
Bioware is the first dev I know of that is willing to literally spend dev resources to altar the genre of their game. Infinity Ward, Larian, Epic, Blizzard, CDPR - no one else does this.
Problem, the game is still an action RPG, but they've given players the option to choose how they expierence it. That's not selling out, that's providing the players with choice, something this forum often demands.

Interesting, I never said you said that.
I also never said I am advocating taking the ball and going home, for that matter, either.
You know, two can play this "Interesting, I never said X" game.

Oh, Blizzard is doing it too lately, really.

I want more options:
"Fat Vegos"
"Just man-boobs Vegos"
"Forklift Vegos"
See how nice that'd be.

I'm not playing a game. However you have agreed with others and made it clear in your own posts that you dislike the idea of Bioware providing for fans you don't think should be allowed to play Mass Effect. I find that a disturbing trend, banning people from something because we don't like the way they play games.

While I don't see anything seriously wrong with these mode's I do wonder why people who don't like dialogue options enough to remove them from the game would play such a dialogue-orientated game in the first place.
It would be like swtor having a single player mode for people who don't like mmorpg's. Sure, It will please more people, but at the end of the day it's a mmorpg and people who don't like them should just go play another game that is more to their taste.
I can see why people might like this mode, but there comes a point where it really comes down to "I'm sorry- but this is just the kind of game Mass Effect is and if you don't like it go play something else"

It's not about options, it's about blurring pictures of Vegos to gain mass appeal. Pure marketing.

Banning? No, it's more like a person coming to a bar that plays metal music and being told to go somewhere else if they want to roll with RnB, and that there are actually several good RnB bars they're going to enjoy a whole lot more than this one. And the beer tastes the same, too. But as long as they stay in this one, they'll have to make do with metal.
BioWare providing for the fans isn't a problem, but I'd prefer it if they provided for each fan segment separately.
If you find that disturbing, well, EXCUUUUUSE ME.

I dont even want to start with the lame characters like Vega or the new miranda like look from Ashely.
@the Wrex Thing. I am pretty sure I remmeber some from bioware saying that Wrex will be in the gamer even if he dies in Mass effect. So your choices didnt really matter in the end at all.
I must say that if that is the Ashley Williams we'll be seeing in the game, I'm damn glad I let her die in Virmire most every time! Those retards who think it is a good idea to change the faces of characters, like they did in DA2, should be thrown in the Pit with my Urz!

My buddy Rage GT nailed this idea in another hread. I quote:
1) People who will play Action Mode will still complain that they cannot skip dialogues (even if auto-responding) and cutscenes altogether.
2) People who will play Story Mode will still complain that they cannot skip combat altogether. (even if it is too easy)
1. You can skip cutscenes in ME2; you can probably do it in ME3 too. Same with dialogue. And really, you're giving games who play 'Action mode' a bad rep. Just because they don't want to choose all their lines of dialogue doesn't mean they don't want ANY dialogue, and/or cutscenes. Games like Cod, GoW, and Halo, all have those things too you know.
2. In a story about war, combat is inevitable. And really, playing on easy, you can literally just run and punch throughout ME2. Each mission takes about 10 minutes, especially if you use Charge to zoom through the level.
As for a question raised after this point; why don't people who want these features find another game? Well, maybe because those people don't want a generic TPS or visual novel. Is it so inconceivable they want to enjoy the Mass Effect universe? This just gives them the option to do it in their own way.

Is it so impossible to develop an actual stand-alone game within the Mass Effect universe that would be a shooter, a visual novel, or tower defense?
Plus, I still don't buy it. I mean why doesn't this happen in other franchises to such an extent?

I can't say I'll really use any mode besides RPG. But with the addition of Narrative and Action, maybe I can finally indoctrinate my friend into the series with Narrative.

Not sure what your first point is. Those other games don't exist, so if there are people out there that really love Mass Effect, but are terrible at combat, why not give those people the option to still enjoy the ME-verse without struggling with the combat. Same for those who play action mode; maybe some people really like the story and the characters and thinks the combat looks great, but doesn't care all that much about the additional lore and what not. They don't NEED a game mode to address that, but it is a nice gesture.
Because the ME franchise is all about choices, and this is just one more choice to make. Besides, what kind of point is that? Just because other franchises don't have a certain feature, ME shouldn't?
