The take off piece is very nice, but has nothing of the SF-mass effect feel. Which always has been more techno-synthish then piano.

OMG The PLC is giving the music a chance
After listening to the Fountain and that damn Requiem For A Dream soundtrack, I honestly didn't have much hope for this guy. To me, those soundtracks just sounds... boring.
I have to say though, the use of these repetitive piano melodies works very well with the depressing feeling that Bioware (hopefully) will be going for with ME3. I'm still hoping that there will be at least a little bit og synth-stuff in the game, but the music we've heard so far fits the game.
I'll give him a chance, but he better not fail me.
Have you listened to "Moon's" soundtrack? Lots of minimalistic ambient piano stuff. Really great. Check it out. (great movie too if you like scifi)

I hope that's not a sign of things to come... I hate that rockish vibe in scifi.
This isn't written by Mansell surely is it?

Does nobody else realize the majority of the music used for the demo is recycled?
The Normandy takeoff is entirely new-- and emotionally powerful-- but the fight theme is from Overlord and the introduction of the Normandy is "Normandy Reborn" from the ME2 OST.
I'm sure it's only for the demo's purpose; maybe the musical score isn't done yet. But only 1/3 of the music I heard there is new.

Seeing as this is demo is really old (Anderson and Shepard still walk with their guns aiming nowhere, which we have known for at least a month or two to have been changed), I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure that even if there isn't any more Mansell music in the demo, they'll use better placeholders.staindgrey wrote...

After all, the musical score is rarely finalized till the well, end. It is constantly being worked up and improved. That's how making music works.

I didn't say I was worried about the final game's music. Or worried at all, actually. I just see people in the thread bragging about how amazing Mansell's work in the demo is, when most of the music isn't even his lol.
It's just kind of a blind optimism.

Anything new is Mansell's work. And there are at least three tracks that I could tell were knew.staindgrey wrote...

I am pretty sure most people can tell the old tracks form the new ones.

Your kidding right?
I'll have to agree with some of the sentiment around here that Clint is indeed great BUT, his style up till now doesn't mesh with Mass Effect. The examples you posted above are not even Mansels best work let alone anything I'd like to hear in ME3. You should also be tarred and feathered for even hinting that anything from the DOOM OST would be something we'd like to hear in ME3.Not saying Clint can't pull this off, but he'd have to create a style that we haven't seen from him yet to REALLY pull it off. I wish Jack Wall would have stayed on with Bioware for this project.

I also heard some of this stuff. Dis be good mon .
I was really digging the Arrival soundtrack too. Inspired by one of the best Sci Fi films pieces ever.Vangelis, Vangelis, Vangelis! I want to make love to Vangelis. I love that synth drop. I already heard some synth in demo so I am good! This guy is really good. Will have to wait to see how good. He is winning me over one track at a time. <3;)
