I think Clint Mansell is not the only composer of ME3. ME2 had a lot of composers, and IIRC none of the tracks made for the DLCs were touched by Jack Wall. If Christopher Lennertz is still composing for ME3, we'll surely get some great tracks.

Who the f*ck cares about the DLC's? Jack Wall made all the themes in ME1 and ME2 and they were awesome. Mansell has a mountain the size of Everest to climb if he thinks he'll match those tracks.

I loved the work Jack Wall did for Mass Effect, particularly for Mass Effect 1. That being said...

Clint Mansell > Jack Wall

He's not going to match them, he is going to expand on them. The themes we all know and love aren't going away.

Jack did about half the music for ME1, Sam did most of the rest. Jimmy Hinson and Sam helped out a lot on ME2 as well.

I'm assuming there was a lead music director...maybe not. But if there was a lead, just as there is with art direction and everything else, who was it?

Agreed. Mansell is good for sentimental tear-jerkers only. And I don't want my Mass Effect to be THAT.

I think Mansell is a great move.

ME1 had a fantastic soundtrack.

ME2 felt less Mass Effecty and more 'oh listen, another heavier shooting music style piece'

It was still awesome - but it didn't capture Mass Effect.

Everything Mansell seems to touch captures EXACTLY what its meant too.

I'd much rather watch a Western. That's what I feel Mass Effect is more akin to. A Western.

I dont f*cking care what he's done before. Can Clint make his sound fit in the last iteration of an established series? Now he has to pick up where a talented composer left off. That isn't easy. Bioware already tried that with a lead writer, and we all saw how that turned out.

Yeah, it is. But it's not as good as Hans Zimmer, John Williams, or even Jack Wall.

Clint Mansell is much better off scoring for a Final Fantasy game. I'm a Final Fantasy fan too - I just think Mansell's style does not suit how I see Mass Effect.

I swear to god that I will murder the next person who uses this f***ing word in that context.

Mass Effect is not your goddamn personal fanfiction. You don't get to decide what is right or wrong for the franchise, you arrogant, self-entitled ******.

I'm not sure how the rest of the music will hold up but the actual song when Shepard leaves Earth is kind of amazing. Maybe it's me, but I LOVED the music of Mass Effect and yet I cannot remember more than one song from Mass Effect 2. ME 2's soundtrack to me felt utterly forgettable, lacking in mystery. I felt like the ending song of the intro to Mass Effect 3 got that feeling from Mass Effect down pat again.

As opposed to you and Cheez wanting everyone to live and have the ending be all sunshine and butterflies, his "entitlement" - as you would call it - at least concerns matters of quality.

You're just here to insult and troll everyone who doesn't agree with you, or doesn't use words as you think they should. And I will not stand for that on my BSN.

It's good to know we're not worthy to form opinons in your almighty presence..oh wait, that's right. You can shove your opinion up your self-entitled ass.

I love a lot of the original ME/ME2 stuff, but my god was some of it cheesy >.<  I mean Dr Orpheus, much?!  How come games like Deus Ex: HR never suffered from this?

Anyway, I don't understand why people are worried about Clint Mansell...Weren't there at least 4 different people contributing to ME's score?  Plus Clint Mansell's stuff sounds awesome sauce.
