I can't believe no one has said 'GMagnum for Squadmate & LI in ME3' yet...

I've seen GMagnums posts for so long here and goddamn it's relentless. I can't help but roar with laughter at his comments, just brilliance. I bet he's some secret super intelligent scientist or something, it's not possible to be able to come up with the stuff he says, he must plan it somehow.:bandit:

I figured this out already. He's a frustrated English teacher.

That reaper is the first one to die. All about that scene was sad, Shepard's expressions, the music, the kid annoyed by the loud noise of the reaper's fart.

The thing that touched me the most, was when the kid was trying to climb into the shuttle. The fact that he had to use all his strenght just to climb, makes me realize how young he was and how incapable of defending himself.

Just thinking about it, the part that really nearly made me cry was that exact bit, how he struggled to climb into the shuttle. Poor lad.

Oh yes! That Reaper WILL pay for that.
Otherwise that scene was amazing, everything combined itself perfectly

Personally, I'm delighted the child died in a fiery explosion.

It finally meant that some kind of emotion broke the cold, impassivity of Shepard's face.

I repeated the scene a hundred times, just to see which muscle of his face moved. You know, just to be sure that he wasn't constipated or something like that.. I was....impressed. In a sick and sadistic way, I say that Brick Shepard died with the child.

I mean don't get me wrong, kids dying is sad, and I get emotional at lots of things when I watch movies and play games like ME. But that scene was just see-through, to me at least. The motive behind it is obvious, and that he was going to get killed was rather predictable in the way it was presented.

I don't mind it as much as I did after reading some people's take on it. Still, I feel like at this point it doesn't really warrant more than an SMH from Shepard, especially with the way he treated Jenkins' death in ME1 (which to me, was quite a bit more sad than this is).

Thank Christ for that.

Lets hope it keeps up. Will more children have to explode or will Shepard just act like a freaking human being all the time, without the emotional manipulation of killing little girls at their birthday party, wearing pastel dresses with ribbons in their hair while holding white kittens?

Found that scene to be very cheesy and cliche.

I knew he was going to die, but actually seeing it in action and the impact of the music just made it all for me. I did get emotional after it happened for a bit.

In no way was it cheesy... How can people even say that? :S I agree with Cheez.

When I first heard the child died I was all set to say, "Great, nice way to tug at the heartstrings with the absolute lowest denominator, Bioware". Then I saw it and felt... well, it felt inevitable to me. Still a bit cheap, because anything involving children or defenseless people generally is, but not cheesy.

Cheesy would have been Shepard throwing himself against a window screaming, "NO!" Or perhaps the child waving to Shepard across all that distance and smiling, seen via close up shot just before getting exploded.

I'm actually quite happy, because I hope that this is going to be applied to romances.

I felt bad seeing the poor kid die! Maybe he comes into play later on? (As in Shep's memories of him)

Does he have a name? If he doesn't we should give him one. I vote for Lucas (that name just came to me and I don't know why...)

semi cheep as in a " knew it was coming" yeah sorta.... but in that also lay the power behind it. You knew it was coming. War is hell people die innocents die....and it's not suppose to be something easily taken. there is a reason " in RL anyway" there are many many issues and battles to keep the innocent out of harms way ( does not always work but they try to establish rules none the less)

It shows how hostile the reapers really are, seeing us ans little more than ants.... but it is also suppose to inspire that drive to fight... to see the face of that child so swiftly snuffed out whom up until a few moments before knew nothing of this attack - on the face of everyone human or not.

As a parent myself it was that much more powerful because I Could easily put the face of my sons in that one ( and I place the kid in the scene in the 5 to7 range) As someone whom has had the time to develop a broader sense of empathy and emotional maturity it was able to carry more impact. I grew up in a long long long line of warriors and service personnel so I'm far from sensitive, but they spoke to the most primal of adult sensibilities and instincts to trigger a specific effect ( at least in those matured, or not totally desensitized or not invested/distant)

had it been adults, men or women that scene would have had a far less impact, even if it WAS anderson.

though I'm still plotting how I will manage to find a way to kill Ash and earn a " 2 for 2" achievement I plan on breaking into BW studios and slipping into the coding
