Ashley! Liara's dull and robotic.
That's what I was thinking. Though she does get quite a bit more interesting in ME2....

Personally, I'd romance Ashley and paragon-ize her. I like Liara more than I used to as of LotSB, but you get to know Ashley a good bit more before the romance starts. Accordingly, I feel the progression is more natural with Ash.

But if you're wondering who's more Paragon-ish, Liara.

Liara's pretty good in LOTSB, but Ashley just takes the cake for being the most well rounded character in the series. She's strong and confident without being ****y, slightly insecure without being irritating, religious without being a Bible basher, a poetry reader, and her conversations about her family just make me go d'awwwwwww.
Definitely in agreeance there. I'm more inclined toward Ash. I'm just not sure how much Liara will change, like in LOTSB. The ME1 Liara was dull, but she's more interesting in ME2 and I'm wondering what direction they will go with her. DAMN YOU BIOWARE AND YOUR CHOICES!!!!! Even though having all the choices is what makes their games so damn amazing!

What you could do if you want a really interesting Paragon Shep would be to romance Ashley but leave her on Virmire because your paragon wouldn't let his feelings for her influence his choice. I did this with Kaidan on my very first playthrough, but ultimately I couldn't sustain it. Shep just wasn't allowed to emote enough. I can impose a certain roleplaying interpretation on my Shep up to a certain point, but this surpassed it. She almost seemed to give out to Ashley and Joker for being upset, remaining totally stonefaced herself. Once I realised that the game just wasn't going to show even a glimpse of what I knew to be her immense inner pain, I went back to Virmire and changed my choice. It just totally broke my immersion to do otherwise. But you may be a better roleplayer than me and able to read more into Shepard's stoicism!

Lol nope. I'm the same way. I've done that before and thought it was strange how unaffected Shepard seemed. Just seemed unnatural and flawed to me. And for everyone else reccommending all the other charactes. Miranda, a little too cocky and trashy for me, Samara, too old, Jack, a bit psycho (though I have seen the softer side). I just always liked Ashley and Liara and was a bit sad when their romances didn't carry into the next game. Or rather was more interactable in ME2.

We have no real desire to push you towards Liara. At least I don't.DyneEnigma wrote...
So, so far I've had more arguments toward Ash. Lol guess there aren't as many Liara supporters as i thought.

Liara is the best female romance option in the game so far, if you include LotSB.

I feel the same actually. Romance who you want. Why do you need other peoples view on it anyway?Xilizhra wrote...

I have different Shepard(s) with different LI. Nothing wrong with that. I have romance Liara more than most.

There isn't really a 'right' or 'wrong' choice to make here.

On a personal level I would pick Ashley but that's just because she's my favorite of the two for reasons that others listed. Truthfully they are both good characters and so really when it comes down to it, it's personal preference.

I know there is no right or wrong. I just like seeing other's opinions. Chances are I will go with Ashley because she is the one I usually go with. Even though I've grown to like Liara because of LOTSB. But it is nice seeing all the different opinions. And I appreciate the input from everyone.
