Hi Ah was wanderin' 'bout Duke Prosper's weapon, some kind of repeated hand crossbow. Ah liked the look of it (reminded me of Bianca) and the fact it was unique to the character (him bein' a noble and special character - understandable). Does anyone have a name fer the weapon class or it's unique name (it was nae mentioned anywhere in game wchich is a pity)? It'd be cool if Hawke had it in his mansion as a trophy afterwards (except the duke fell with it, but hey ye can dream;P).

I don't think a name or weapon class has been attributed to it, but it made me think of Bianca as well. Particularly if you've played Legacy and know the part of her origin story. Perhaps Prosper's weapon was modeled after what the Carta were working on.

I did wonder about that myself, though mostly because it doubles as a grenade launcher. A rapid-firing one, at that. How did it do that?

Hm... some Dark Elves in Warhammer wield repeater hand crossbows (novels mostly), that are similar (small hand-held weapons that can fire couple shots at once sometimes). Maybe that's where they got their inspiration?...

For anyone who may be interested the real world repeating crossbow was the Chinese cho-ko-nu.  It was invented sometime around 200 AD and saw it's last major use in war in 1895.

Bianca is prettier.

The most disgusting thing is that he holds it with one hand. His arm would surely have fractured.

I imagine with his knowledge of the Qun and the language he may have had access to their technology, thus his Resident Evil 2+3 inspired crossbow.

Hm... doubt that, otherwise he would nae be ticked off with Salim fer not bringin' him Qun powder recipe or somethin' like that, might be somethin' orlesian. Dworkin in DA:A was experimentin' with lyrium sand and Qunari are after him fer it...

Considering that we have only seen pieces of a piece of the map that is the world of the DA-verse, it's quite likely that there exists technology yet unknown to use - and Prosper's crossbow is part of that. He had money - and money can buy all sorts of shiny, sleek, rapid-fire things.
