As we know, this elf has many problem with mages. On my playthrough, I decide to side with the mages in the end. And I want the (Rival )Fenris to go with Hawke. Is that possible?

My team includes:
1.fem Hawke(Rogue, off-tank)
2.Anders(Mage,Healer)
3.Fenris (Warrior, DPS)
4.Merrill (Mage, DPS)

Quite an exciting combo (imo)~the "pro-mage" choices I've made so far have pushed Fenris toward Rilvalry, while making Anders and Merrill Friend.

So far, we know it's possible to persuade Fenris to join the mage in the end with Friendship, but what about Rivalry?

p.s. And yes, I meant to always put Anders & Fenris together because it triggers interesting dialogues between these two.

Yes if you have full rivalry with Fenris he can be convinced to join with the mages and help you.

It is possible. Just make sure you do his final question belief and he will stay loayl.
If he is around approximately 75-100% (without question belief) he will betray you but can be convinced when you reach the Gallows. Under that and he betrays you no matter what.

Sounds good, thanks for the answers. Also, I'd like to ask a silly question (this is my first time trying to push someone toward 100% Rivalry)

Aside from doing the Questioning Belief in the end and giving pro-mage opinions, do I get more Rivalry points on Fenris by completing his companion quests in Act2 or rejecting it?

You must complete it, because if you don't he leaves, also if you don't activate the quest I don't think act 3 quest will active and thus no question belief.

After the act 2 quest first activate, you can keep walking around with Fenris on the team without going to the holdinging place. You will be ambushed once more and Fenris will demand that you go now! That is last chance, if you don't go there Fenris will leave the team forever. It is not necessary to trigger the extra ambush though, because there are plenty of rivaly points in the quest.

Accept and complete it, just be sure to critize him for killing Hadriana.

During a pro templar run for me, I got Anders to 100% rivalry and had him help take out the mages, which didn't feel right. So...anything is possible.

If you want quest/approval guides, the wiki site has them.

In my experience on the rivalry path you need 100% and questioning beliefs.  Friendship is more forgiving.

I had just under 100% and couldn't convince him to stand down... does it matter what response you pick? I picked "we don't have to fight"

You need to say "join me" when you first run into him in the Meredith Orsino standoff in the Gallows. If not you'll have to fight and kill him regardless of what you tell him afterward.

you need a bit more than 50% rival or friend and you can ask him to join you, oh and don't forget doing questioning beliefs or he won't move no matter what.

Remember not to go to the holding caves right after you get the quest. Run around Kirkwall night time until the hunters attack you. When he rages, tell him to back down then agree to go to the caves. +20 rivalry.
