I like what I hear so far - looks like I'll be buying two "Sky" games this month. LOL.

too many perfect 10 scores recently from Game Informer.

They gave Arkham City a 10 as well.

Could they really both be "masterpieces"? A perfect 10 should be rare.

Two 10s are too many? I can't recall GI giving out more than that any time in the past year or so - they're sort of stingy with them.

EDIT: For what it's worth, GI does seem to be a bit biased when it comes to Zelda games. They gave Wind Waker and Twilight Princess perfect scores as well - except Wind Waker is the second worst Zelda game in the series IMHO, and as fun as Twilight Princess is, I wouldn't give it any more than a 9/10.

Gamespot is really frikkin stingy, I think ever since the beginning (when they were Videogames.com) until now, they only have given 7 or 8 games perfect 10s (Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Chrono Cross, Metal Gear Solid 4, other usual suspects)

If I can recall I think IGN award 5-6 games a perfect 10 that were released this generation (Uncharted 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pacman DX, and Chrono Trigger rerelease on Wii....

I suppose I'm looking at this from the film industry perspective, but it's extremely rare for films to be perceived as flawless masterpieces. You only see a couple of films in a given decade with this kind of stature.

As far as games go, a 9.0 is already tremendously high, and 9.5, 9.7, 9.8, etc. are all epic review scores for a game you might consider to be a classic.

But a perfect 10 claims that such a game has absolutely no flaws whatsoever. Really, Game Informer? Almost every game will have at least one or two minor flaws. A perfect 10 should be reserved for only the absolute highest echelon.

I'm reading this directly from a copy of GI:

10:  Outstanding. A truly elite title that is nearly perfect in every way. This score is given out rarely and indicates a game that cannot be missed.

Take that for what it's worth.

Lol I remember getting EGM subsciption for years and remember seeing a whole bunch of 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s. I think in this gen, if a game is average it rates a 7 from many media gaming sites. It would be hard to compare the measurement dynamics one art form like fim to another. Many of the more popular use different metrics (thumbs up/down, A-F, stars, or no score at all and just a review from the context of what's written.

I already bought a Nintendo game system (the N64) for one game (Ocarina of Time) before. I won't do it again. The Wii is neat, but they need to work on their titles. I'd love to play Skyward Sword, but it's not worth buying a system for.

I own a Wii and I won't be buying this title....Twilight Princess was good for me only because I bought the GC version so I didn't have to use the BS controls.

I may buy this one when it hits bargain bin, but that will be quite a while....(too many other games to play first)

Skyward Sword seems to be the best console game to date, the recently revealed Zelda Wii U should change that.

I played a bit on an emulator, why not give it a shot and you might think twice, when you hear weird repetitive music.

How is the music weird and repetitive?

Also, get the actual game on the Wii, you can play it in HD on the Wii U in Wii Mode.

I have a wii, just not a Wii U. I'm not really knocking the game, when the weird repeitive music started playing I thought twice.

The music in the building you start in is just simply maddening may be another word?
