Never said they didn't. But it feels silly that they made a new melee weapon to fit the universe and then gave the phantom something completely different.

In a comic? Either way that makes no sense...

Found it, I also noticed that when your life reaches a certain level it stays that way a doesn't automatically regenerate, I'm guessing omin-gel will have a better purpose now, similar to Mass Effect 1, yipee, and this is coming from someone who prefers ME 2 quite a bit.

Agreed. She needs lower health if she's going to be that deadly, especially if she can block ranged powers.karthikc wrote...
From the video, she appears to have a disproportionate amount of hitpoints; about two thirds as much as the atlas mech. Make her lethal if you wish, but this is a silly way to make her tough.
Lethal, agile, fragile; not lethal, agile, tank.
Anyway, there's no way to block biotic charge, since its point is neither control nor damage.
She blocks range biotic powers not all ranged powers.

In the book Retribution he did that. Remember Kinetic barriers doesn't block melee attacks (unless you change the setting) if fight someone in close quarters with a knife you could win that. Kai Leng fought an entire Turian squad in close quarters. Also do you really think that doesn't make sense? Thane has done that before he regularly fight armed and armored opponents hand to hand. Hell he knows how to kill Krogan without using any weapon.

I don't understand what you are saying...but I said I THINK they should be useless. Didn't say the were because obvisouly BioWare doesn't want them to be.

Laser swords wouldn't really work since its a laser. Also those swords could easily be monomolecular blades that can cut through almost anything. They even mention monomolecular blades existing.

I know you're trying to make swords in space sound dumb, but that actually crosses the line and makes it even more badass.Dean_the_Young wrote...

You are missing the point.
I just find it strange that Bioware create a new type of melee weapons and gives Shepard it. I kinda took that as a "this is the type of melee weapons soldiers like Shepard use in our universe", but then they proceed and give the phantom a conventional sword.
Beside. Would it not make more sense for the phantom to be so fast and quick when using omni-blades instead of a katana. Since she would not have to jump around with a giant sword?

If the metal is sharp enough to penetrate the weaker, woven parts of the armor and made of tougher, harder material, the sword will work fine.Montezuma IV wrote...

Hell, it doesn't even have to be metal. Lightweight, laser-cut carbon ceramic. Plus, swords are slow-moving enough that they bypass shields.

Personally I'd scrap the riding the Normandy thing and have Shepard dual Harbinger for Earth, on Earth.
On foot.

What your not understanding is that their no such this as a useless weapon. Non-effective weapon, outof date weapon, yes, But no useless weopons. The thing is no matter hoe far you go ijn the furture, all combat wear has a weakness to knives. Why/ Because many points of the body have to be flexible. The joints, the neak and side can't be heavily layers because they have to move. Havoing those parts not move is a hinderance in combat. So your facing a heavily armored guy and you have a knife, If you go forthe flexible part of his armor, like his neak, you can kill him.Montezuma IV wrote...
