Well title says it all, I'm gonna have a DN tank with sword and shield, but I really wonder how I should build him, here's what I have so far:

Companions:
Oghren: 2 handed
Leliana: archer
Wynne: healer

Weapon: A mace... yes a mace, I know they suck, but I really want to see for myself how and for how much ( + it's an extra challenge :P )
But I don't really know which one... I'm thinking Branka's mace, the golems of Amgarrak mace might be stronger, but it really sucks that it has no runes to equip on (and the image is bugged as well Image IPB )

Shield: probably the Shield you get from Gorim

Armor: This one's tricky as well... I don't want to use DLC armour, so I really don't know which one to pick... The juggernaut set sounds good, but so does the Diligence set... or am I missing a set?

rings: ring of the warrior/ Festival ring and key to the city

Amulet: warden's oath... don't really know yet

belt: Andruil's Blessing

Specs: Templar and beserker

so what ya think?

I think this'd do better in the Character Builds forum...

Besides that, it all seems pretty sensible. The only other armour I'd suggest you bear in mind is Evon's armour from Wade.

Also remember the Dwarf 10% spell resist. It's a nice little bonus that's often overlooked, but if you build with an eye to spell resistance you could be laughing in the faces of those damn hurlock spellslingers.

yeah, good you mentioned it, hadn't noticed it myself :P

thanks, but I really don't want to use evon the great mail, because that's more of an end game armour and costs a lot (and I don't use the gold glitch)

For a necklace you can use The Spellward

Notice that it is a buyable amulet at party camp, and may take a bit to acquire the gold legitimately. Alternatively, you can get Magister's Shield through a quest in Denerim.

yeah I was thinking about the spellward... it might be useful considering the dwarf does get 10% spell resist
