[Fiery Knight]

This small moment between Ashley and Shepard is exactly what ME3 needs for continued romance relationship. Okay, it could be that this scene doesn't have to have Ash as a romance, but this quiet moment and the gace between the two of them.

We don't (only) need sex scenes nor different romance specific dialogs, we need moments similiar to this one. I hope ME3 have a lot more of these, and unique ones with differernt team mates, 'casue what I've seen so far, it looks great.

But you're right, LotSB was one scene, and Horizon wasn't one at all.




While I purposefully didn't watch the leaked content (Not that I haven't gotten immense spoilers anyway, which is fine, just want to experience it for myself in March rather than watch it secondhand), I strongly support more such moments between returning squadmembers, romances especially.


Given that nearly all temporary and "permanent" (duh duh DUH) squadmates are returning characters, they all should really not need any more character development (Particularly Garrus and Tali, and to a lesser extent, Wrex), so much as they should have more conversations demonstrating the bond they've grown with Shepard, as (Some more than others, obviously) their lives have done a complete 180 and they've come to trust him more than anyone else in the galaxy, potentially.


Well, unless your Shep is a giant Renegade douchebag.


But still. More deep, mushy convos out-of-combat. Screw the trolls that say they don't want it, we can have our brutality when we're dismembering Cerberus soldiers with our omni-sharpy-pointies.



EDIT: People romancing new characters, such as Vega, obviously can't have nearly as much of this as the old team, as he's a complete stranger in the beginning (unless Bioware's going to insinuate that they grew close during Shepard's holding), and will need to first know Shepard before any gushy stuff begins. Which is their choice; If they wanted a longer-developed relationship, they would've continued a 'mance with a returning squaddie. Abundant Choice is Abundant.

Really? I saw this as evidence of a rift between them with Shepard giving her the cold shoulder as he walks away and her saying "I used to [know him]". Which is still great writing, they shouldn't be BFFs after that Horizon monstrosity. Do hope they develop that (i.e. they have to work at regaining each other's trust and maybe more)

Nah, I don't think so. People don't like to do too much work to bang virtual chicks, and I think that Bioware's just gonna give people what they think the majority wants. I mean, look  at Ashley! =0

To my mind I thought she was putting Began on notice. Like saying to him, Yeah, we've got history. And the light pitch in her voice conveyed optimism and welcome discovery when she greeted him. Plus her and his body language were frontal, even when Shepard left she turned toward him to talk about him. This means she was willing to continue communication, if she had merely looked over her shoulder as she talked about him that would have belied more ambivalence.

I agree. I really hope they have taken the characters along this path. I wasn't a fan of Horizon, but it shouldn't be ignored either. There's distance between the VS and Shepard, and that needs to be repaired. I'm not saying I want all the dialogue between Shep and the VS to be based on this, but at least a few before they can move on and do what has to be done.

Having said that, I do hope that there's not a forced friendship. I'd like for there to be a "we're cool again" option as well as "you're a jerk but I'll work with you for the moment" option.

Just for the record:

The player did NOT import an existing Shepard but started a new one from scratch. Therefore, Ashley never was Shepard's LI. I can say, canon!Shepard does not have a LI, because creating a character from scratch starts without any relationships, but the events in the past (ME, ME2) did happen. So Shepard knows Ashley, but they never had more than friendship.

I wonder if that scene will be a bit different if Ashley is Shepard's LI. Maybe a second more gazing at each other, maybe one or two extra lines. Not too much, since time is short, maybe just a smile - whatever. If there's no additional stuff for LI, it's still a quite decent scene and does the trick. We'll have plenty of time to talk to Ashley / Kaidan on board of the Normandy, also adressing Horizon.

Exactly. Even if she was NOT romanced, she cares for Shepard and wants back whatever they had (friendship, romantic relationship, comradeship).

Also anything from the leak cannot really be used as strong support for one hypothesis or another since that scene was clearly not finished product (lip synch off or non-existent, missing sounds, ships in background only grayscale). Maybe the lack of emotion from both Shepard and Ashley can be attributed to mere incompleteness. That being said my interpretation would still be interesting to see I think.

I loved the Chakwas and SB Liara moments. I also liked overhearing about the man and his family in crew deck as it all progressed I'd like to hear all crewmen and my groundcrew talk about one another if points in our conversation can go that way maybe sometimes your squadmates can't answer your question or don't feel they're qualified so they tell you go see so and so and if you do the question you asked to crewmen prior comes up again and this time you'll get the answer!

I'd love to have moments with crew. I really appreciated that once I gave chakwas the Brandy she was so exited and said let's drink now and you could make a rain check! I planed on doing a mission but decided while I was on crew deck I'd give her that wine I forgot about and was able to say raincheck and she really did let you take that. I would like for instances to come up more with shep's LI with ground crew shep is friends with.

I really loved how Liara actually asked shep if he was ok the one thing I didn't like is how shep couldn't at least at the dog tag moment bring up his death and what happened to her and to him maybe even let her know how this has effected you go all 5 choice wheel on us was her decision right, wrong, inbetween, did you hate that TIM succeeded, where you happier being dead?

LIs should maybe had 2 -3 times were they can share moments either sexual or not and talk share their view allow shep to share his/hers and if sidequest or mainquest come up were shep has had trauma dealt out let the players vent. For instance I went to overlord got hacked Tali my LI was there and didn't hack that door with Legion and help I would've loved to be able to go to engineering and ask Tali can I speak to you in private we go up to his cabin and you can ask her why didn't she help you was the codes that difficult did drones come into the room? She would tell you and you two could talk that out she could ask question that shep maybe can't even answer properly but she's asking and that would be important. Like if she asks did your, david, and the AI's minds meld in that state you could say you think so, you don't know, or you really can't be sure.
