The title says it really. Are there any races of the galaxy that you would leave to their fate at the hands of the reapers? Which ones would you save?
I'd be tempted to just not bother about the batarians. Pirates, slavers, fanatical-esque hatred of humanity and not much to contribute to shepard or the galaxy.
I might let the yahg die because I see nothing but trouble from them, god help us if they get offworld in any significant number.
I'd save the asari, turians and salarians because they are the major players and I don't have a reason not to save the others.
Which species would you abandon?

I wouldn't want to abandon any of them, but assuming I had to these would be my choices:
1. Yahg - mostly primitive and as such, of limited usefulness against the Reapers. Their hyper-violent culture also makes them incompatible with the other civilizations of the galaxy. The galaxy wouldn't lose much with their extinction.
2. Quarians - They have a large fleet but it is mostly obsolete space junk packed with civilians. Their contribution to the war effort would be less significant than the Turians, humanity, Asari, Salarians, Hanar, Krogan and possibly the Batarians if they manage to pull their four-eyed heads out of their behinds.
3. Batarians - Hated rivals of humanity. While I'd rather have them as an ally against the Reapers, they'd be among the first on the chopping block if Shepard couldn't save every civilization.

I'd try to save as many as I could so I'd only abandon a race if I had to make sacrifices for the greater good. In which case, batarians would be the top of my list. Krogan would probably be next if they could not be rallied to fight the Reapers.

Probably the batarians because their entire government is xenophobic and refuses to let go of traditions to better integrate with galactic society. Also the pyjaks, because freaking monkeys.

Batarians are a danger to humans and an annoyance to everyone else. They have yet to do anything remotely positive for the galaxy, since all the good ones stay at home and the rest spend their time slaving and pirating.
300,000 Batarians? Good work, Shepard.

In order of most likely to abandon to least likely to abandon
1) Batarians: They are the most likely to attempt to wipe out Humanity after the Reapers are dealt with
2) Geth: They are probably the most capable of following through on the extermination of humanity, if they became so inclined.
3) Asari: Limited strategic value and pose a long-term threat to human power and survival
4) Volus: Limited value, but limited threat as well
5) Hanar: Same as volus, really
6) Elcor: Somewhat greater strategic value than Volus, but still somewhat limited of a theat.
7) Turians: Significant strategic value to be used against the Reapers, but significant post-reaper threat
8) Salarians: Significant stratigic value, moderate post-reaper threat.
9) Krogan, Quarians, Vorcha: Valuable post-Reaper client species each with significant potential strategic value
10) Humans: Because I'm human.

I would abandon Batarinas and I don't know why, it's just instinct.

If it had to be someone it'd be the Yahg, they have absolutely nothing to contribute to galactic society.
It's awful that all if you people condemn batarians to the point where you would happily allow their entire race to be destroyed. Their victims of their own government. The krogan are equally if not more violent than the batarians and like the yahg, have nothing to offer to galactic society in their current state. Why do the krogans have more of a right to survive than the batarians?

Ever heard of "triage"? You may want to save everyone, but you may need to make decisions on where your efforts are best spent.Alikain wrote...

None! I will save them all.
All of them if it means winning!
As few as possible, but losses are sometimes necessary.

(I don't actually know who I would abandon, but likely whichever race had less strategic importance and fewer war assets.)

They would be very useful against husk swarms.

Really depends on the situation. If there were a race that I thought could hold their own long enough to give me time to develop a defense that has a chance of being successful, I'd "abandon" them.

Without the Krogans, we wouldnt have Wrex. That's enough of a reason to save them
