Other choices might be
Hanar - They don't really contribute all that much to galactic society
Batarians - Rogue race that might as well be destroyed if they don't change their attitude towards the rest of the galaxy soon.
Elcor - Like hanar they don't do much for the society although they're the only race that can live on high gravity worlds and thus the only ones who can actively mine these planets for resources. I do wonder if a Reaper can land and take off from such a planet again though. Most Elcor worlds have a gravity of over 5G, making a Reaper 5 times heavier than on a human world and thus requiring a mass effect core 5 times as strong...

This. If some race should be abandoned, it will be one without significant firepower or other resources that can be used against Reapers. Or any race which will be too much damaged in first hours of attack to contribute something further.Bekkael wrote...

(I don't actually know who I would abandon, but likely whichever race had less strategic importance and fewer war assets.)
This makes chances of Drell, Hanars and Elcors - and possibly humans - rather low.

The batarians lost much of their military, civilians, government, colonies and likely their population is the most devastated out of all the races seeing as they were the first ones to be attacked. I would think, if they were to survive the war, they couldn't even organize a simple offensive against humanity. But the only thing that makes them useful is that they could use their influence to unite the Terminus races against the Reapers which Shepard could use.SandTrout wrote...
In order of most likely to abandon to least likely to abandon
1) Batarians: They are the most likely to attempt to wipe out Humanity after the Reapers are dealt with.

I really hate Batarians... so they would be first on my list... Then I would probably get rid of Vorcha, which I am sure would make Captain Gavorn happy... then probably the Humans or Yahg would go third....
Really? your willing to let humans go over, oh I don't know, the drell? or the hanar? or elcor? We have so much more to contribute to galactic society! Or is this just another case of the ridculous self hatred that I see so often on these forums?

I'd leave the krogan and the vorcha to their fate. I'd like to abandon the asari, but that might not necessarily be wise in the middle of the war. They could be useful.

I think the Drell have something that can contribute, The elcor on the other hand... as well as the hanar... I totally didn't think about them XD I would put them at second or third!BubbleSauce wrote...

The drell are barely existant, they have very small numbers, maybe when the regain their numbers, but not in their current state.

plainly
The hanara and elcor? They're not potent enough to matter either way as far as we know. The volus however are useful allies. Most especially in the aftermath. The economy is going to be in shambles most likely and we'll need their keen grasp of economics to get it back on track.

In the matter of survival pretty much we wouldn't care for them unless they have a super weapon or something that makes them important enough to keep. But I do love how people forget that if the hanar are wipe out so do the drell since the drell live on the hanar homeworld.Sylvianus wrote...
