I'm going to miss Sheploo's terrifying facial expressions of old.

You will never miss those expressions as they will be forever printed on your soul.

I wasn't terribly impressed by the voice acting for the male Shepard. I hope he ups his game in ME3, even though my Shepard is female.

I just hope it works as well on a customized face.

I think this one shows the subtle improvements better.

I thought this and that subtle smile looked fantastic, this is looking brilliant.

To be honest I wasn't very impressed with ANY of the voices ... They seem like a HUGE step back from the 2nd one, for every single character that has spoken so far!

Jennifer Hale, you better not fail into mediocrity.

Remember it was a rough beta, i'm sure it will be great in the end.

OT: It was good to see shep's feelings show, especially when seeing Ashley again! :D

Is it me, or when he stares down at his dogtags when Anderson give them back, then back at Anderon, he seems a little pissed off... or rather, apprehensive would probably be the better phrase..

Despite the charmingly raw state of the leaked demo, it impressed the hell out of me. Massive improvements on maleShep's animations. Imagine how great the polished version will look come January. :o Can't wait to see what they've done with femShep too.

*stops to recall FemShep's face in ME3 so he can imagine it in cutscenes*

As long as it's subtle, I'm OK with it. Personally, I've liked Shepard's stoic nature and typically hated the reactions they force us to have. I can imagine what's in his/her head rather than go with what the writers want Shepard to feel.

I also feel like Shep should act more like a soldier than a civilian in general, so it just fits as well. Some people want Shepard to break down, and I have true hate for that idea!

I feel the same. I always felt a little uncomfortable with femshep's voice, although the va is fantastic I felt as though it implied  a lot more emotion which was often incongruent with my Shepard's intentions. However in saying that, Shepard's expressions after the kid was obliterated were cleverly done, so that they could be taken to communicate a number of things simultaneously. Stoicism has it's merits in a role-playing game but it gets old fast, particularly in romance dialogue.

I don't want my Shepard to break down canonically either but a clear option to do so would be very interesting and welcome. I'm hoping to see a bit of morality based dialogue from Bioware at some point to see how they've handled Shepard expression there.

If shep can show feelings as well as project them in his voice and actions I'm all for it. I don't like brick shep.

I love when Anderson tells Shepard to "talk to the Council, convince them to help us", and Shepard throws up his free hand and says"What if they won't listen?". I liked the animation, really gets across Shep's frustration. This is shaping up to be far more "emotionally engaging" in this beta alone than all the hype they kept pushing for in ME2. SO EXCITED!!!

Uh, wouldn't FemShep suffer from this perceived emotion problem too then?

Sometimes it feels like misandry, the way male Shepard is seen as inferior.

Cupcakesuzie is that you?
