Faith? With the way things are looking right now, I see no need to put my faith in something that is starting to look really bad.

A disaster is a brewing, I can only hope the grey clouds clear up before March 6th....

I would love for someone to pinpoint the problems besides the fact that a beta was released accidently. And I don't mean generalizations.

Problems will be a subjective thing.  But if you have seen the beta, you either think things are going bad, things look cool or wait and see leaning towards one of the first two thoughts.

I would say the news of a "Action Mode" and "RPG mode" are not good things.  I would say some of the design decisions are meh.

I guess we will see how bad EA/Bioware has ruined the trilogy soon enough.  Maybe it will be really great, I hope so.  But it is not looking like it right now.

that is to be debated. Was bioware forced to sell to EA?

also, Inon zur said flat out it was a rushjob...only hinted at the fact EA wanted to cash in on the success of DAO

but I see your point. Then there is the issue of people wondering how many more games will be "rushed out"

No, Bioware wasn't forced to sell to EA - but I doubt Bioware foresaw EA pressing them to rush a sequel out to one of the richest, most complex franchises in Bioware's repertoire (and hope it to be as good as the original).

It's a blunder on EA's part - and hopefully one they won't soon repeat.

It's not even about a game being "unrealistic", "streamlined", or "appealing to a wider audience" - what it ultimately boils down to is fear of change, no matter what the form. It happens outside of the Internet as well - it's just part of human psychology.

Seriously, after the whole DA2 discussions I feel the need to punch something if anyone uses the words "fear", "of" and "change" in that order. Because it is just BS in this context. Disliking a game because in my opinion it was worse than it's predecessor in almost every way has nothing to do with me being "afraid of change".

To be honest I would really want to see a link to that statement.

I really have all the respect in the world for the ME3 team, its just the team that worked on DA2 that did such a terrible job.

Loved ME1 and 2, plan on loving 3 even if I don't get *EVERYTHING* I want :P

So that would confirm its EAs fault for rushing the game. Again I don't see much of the hate for Bioware on this part.

they chose to sell to EA knowing their reputation..unless it was an hostile takeover

but we will never know will we?

So you are attempting to say Bioware wanted DA2 rushed due to the possibility that they knew and was 100% sure EA was super evil company? Honestly I never really care much for EA until I got on these forums and saw the hate for them and I've been playing games for years now. Probably because I didn't care much for the companies itself at that time.

This isn't a new when compared to the original BioBoards, there were disappointments over NWN and the subsequent entries to the series. The tendency to disapprove of how things are going in pre-release forums has grown immensely over the years, and it isn't just on BSN.

DA II wasn't well accepted and was a bit of a disappointment to many. Much of that is a result of individual expectations, some so extreme that they claim the developers had broken their promises, except that the developers never make such promises. So, hey, they tried something different and it didn't work out too well. The last I saw, there isn't a AAA developer out there who's every single title is up to fan expectations.

ME 3 looks to me like they are working very hard on releasing a very smooth and polished finale to the ME trilogy from what I have seen in the unfinished and unpolished beta that got leaked and spread like wildfire on the Web.

I think I'm just going to read this comment over and over again. Suddenly, BSN became tolerable.

what is remarkable is that a lot of people that say these negative things will buy the game and play through it numerous times.

Since most of the arguments I see put forward here on BSN for both the DA and ME series often revolve around not liking the changes Bioware made compared to previous titles, and subsequently wishing to regress back to the former titles' gameplay, I'd say: yes, a great deal of it has to do with fear of change.

Whether that's the case for you personally, I don't know - but for many of your peers, I'd say the assessment is quite accurate.

It's not impossible to not fear something but still not like it.

That is correct. Even many people who seem to hate DA2 have played it like 3 times saying it is the worst Bioware title ever. If its so bad why the hell are you playing it so much? Seriously it must be entertaining enough that you can stomach 3 playthroughs.

No....but their reputation has always been questionable

hell I used to LOVE bullfrog

but still, So far the ME team seems to be unaffected why with them rectifying some of the questionable decisions made in ME2

now some clarifications about some of the gmaeplay spoilers would help tho

Bioware probably saw EA as a way so that they can make there titles more epic with money and get more people to enjoy there games. Their intentions could have been entirely innocent (for a gaming company) EA obviously thought Bioware could **** out gold no matter what so they rushed them.

I agree the ME team so far does look like they are making ME3 into what ME2 should have been.
