Redeemed the code through the BioWare website and it had said that it worked but I don't know what to do now. The armor clearly isn't there so what step am I missing?

You will still need to download it which is something you haven't mentioned.
When redeeming codes on consoles it's best to do it through the game rather than the website as the process is simpler.
If there is something else at play you will have to mention it.
